Well first of all thanks a lot for taking the time to reply, and Yes! if that is possible and not impact your plans, it would be really appreciated security feature to have.
Again, thanks a lot for all your work!!!!

Ok, I will look into it.

Should the 5x RESET trick allow to return to AP mode and change the password (recover the device), or should it be locked forever unless flashed by wires?

Thanks for your time. Interesting question! I think different users will have different opinions on this. Maybe a flag like "allow anonymous login when in debug mode" could be added. I would prefer the default to be False.

Then if you forgot the password, you will have to attach UART wires to recover?

    Correct.

This is how I see it: Default is no password, so the option has no effect. But if you set a password, you must also choose whether to "ignore password in debug mode".

Whether it is ticked by default or not is less important. But I think it's important to have that option.

In my country, we have many power failures, so it can happen that things go into debug mode by accident. I would like to keep my devices password-protected even in debug mode.

Other users will prefer to bypass the password in debug mode.

Seria muito interessante que houvesse senha. Na verdade, necessário. Mas não posso dizer isso sem antes parabenizá-lo pelo excelente trabalho.

    Hello.
I'm new here. Can someone tell me how I can reset the web GUI password? As I set it, the keyboard was not working properly, I guess. So now I don't have access to the device through the web interface.
I flashed it again with the UART with soldering and disassembling, but it's still asking for the password. And in safety mode as access point, it is also asking for the password.
    Please, can someone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

    >>21477474 Write any config, without reading it in flasher, using "Write only OBK config"

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the potential implementation of a username and password feature for the OpenBeken admin web page, similar to that of Tasmota. Users express interest in enhancing security through this feature, with suggestions for options like allowing anonymous login in debug mode. Concerns are raised about device recovery methods if passwords are forgotten, with some advocating for a default no-password setting that can be secured with a password if desired. The importance of maintaining password protection even in debug mode is emphasized, particularly in regions prone to power failures.
