I have connected the motor and photocells as per the diagrams. The remote is also connected, yet when pressing the remote, nothing happens. All basic programming is correct too, but there is still no response from the motor. Any thoughts on what might be wrong here? Thanks.

Is there a wire between the terminals 5 and 7 (or 8)?

The basic question is whether the remote control has been read into the radio ?
Were the photo2 and STOP inputs bridged ?
Insert the diagram according to which you connected and preferably some photos of the connection of the control panel and of the LEDs that are lit or not on the control panel.

Hi, many thanks, diagram from the manual that I followed attached, certainly no bridge so perhaps the manual should be clearer.
Diagram of a pair of closing photocell connections. Close-up of electronic internals with wiring. Visible is a green circuit board with integrated circuits and colored wires connected to connectors.

Solved, thanks for the note regarding bridging 5 to 7, all now working as initially expected.

    Thank you

There must be a wire between 5 and 7
it is not in Figures 4-9 but is in Figure 2

So STOP, but that`s how they draw the diagrams - if you look at the photos, there is no bridge in the diagram and this often confuses amateur installers because the diagram regarding the stop terminal is earlier.

Bridged the two contacts as described

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a connection issue with the FAAC 740 motor, where the user reports that the motor does not respond despite correct connections for the photocells and remote control. Initial troubleshooting suggestions include checking for a wire between terminals 5 and 7 (or 8) and ensuring that the remote control has been properly programmed into the system. The user later confirms that bridging terminals 5 and 7 resolved the issue, leading to successful operation of the motor. Additional comments highlight confusion caused by the wiring diagrams provided in the manual, particularly regarding the STOP terminal connections.
