How do I pair the sensor with the Smart Life app? Instructions and tips .

Hello, I have a problem with this sensor. I can't get it to pair with the Smart Life app and I don't know if I'm making a mistake when trying to add it, or is there something wrong with this sensor? Please can you give me any hints or instructions on what I need to do.

    .
    Zigbee thermo - hydrometer sensor

In the app I wanted to add a new device, I found the temperature and humidity sensors and tried to add, but without success.

Is the sensor ZigBee or WiFi? Do you have a ZigBee gateway?

The ZigBee sensor will not communicate with the application without a gateway.

And there is no other option? Just to buy a gate?

Well, you can't do it any other way. It's like wanting to connect your phone via WiFi to the internet without having a WiFi router at home.

Okay, and should the gateway be some kind of dedicated one for these sensors, or whatever?

ZigBee is ZigBee, best to take the latest version possible to avoid problems. I have an RTX gateway with ethernet and it works quite well.

Not true. Zigbee devices are not compatible with each other. In order not to elaborate I will quote:

"ecosystems are not compatible with each other, neither are devices relative to each other - unless explicitly written otherwise!".

The RTX gateway works with Smart Life.

Right, my mistake. I once had a problem with a 4 relay module and a gate from Lidl. Here exactly they were pairing and the states were "switching", but only virtually, not physically. I therefore replaced the gateway with an RTX and since then everything has worked correctly :) .

Topic summary

The user has a ZigBee temperature and humidity sensor that cannot be paired with the Smart Life app. The main issue is the absence of a ZigBee gateway, which is required for communication between the sensor and the app. ZigBee sensors do not connect directly via WiFi or other means without a gateway acting as a bridge. The gateway must be compatible with the Smart Life ecosystem; not all ZigBee gateways or devices are interoperable. It is recommended to use a recent, reliable ZigBee gateway such as the RTX gateway with Ethernet connectivity, which is confirmed to work well with Smart Life. Without such a gateway, pairing the sensor is not possible.
