Does anyone know this chip model, just by looking at the photos?

    Hello,

does anyone know from the photos what type of chip is being used here?

No identification can be seen from the sheet metal. To avoid any unnecessary work with decapping, I wanted to ask if anyone has seen this before and can tell me what type / design / manufacturer it is.

    Best Regards

What is the device model? Removing the shield from the module or removing the module itself could help a lot.

I know, so I go the longer way with the hot air gun and come back when it's done next days.

    So, I'm back again.

As I'm very busy at work, it took me a while to get around to removing and decapping the module.

Here are the photos and my opinion of the module.

In my opinion, it is most similar to the WBR3L, at least as far as the PIN arrangement of the module is concerned.

    TX | A_0
    RX | A_7
    A_19 | EN
    A_18 | A_11
    A_17 | A_2
    A_16/TX | A_3
    A_15/RX | A_4
    GND | VCC

    IC-Model is: RTL8720CF

and I think the journey ends here, or is there a firmware that can be customized?
