Electric Wiring

Dear all,

First of all I'm not an electric engineer but interested in the profession.

I am facing an electric wiring problem as there is one device in the household that switch off and back on again.

Here is what happens: The device is connected to an extension cord along with 3 other appliances. When the light is turned on or off the device in subject switches off for a second or two. The other 3 machines have no such problem.

I thought it might be an error with the live and neutral sides but after changing of the arrangement did not have any effect.

I am not sure what the problem might be...

Please advise if anyone has idea

Can you tell us what device this is? Have you tried to replicate incident? Say connecting the extension to another wall socket, or using a different extension chord?

I suggest to do a bit of investigation focusing on isolating the cause.

It is a tv setup box.

I will try what you have suggested. Hopefully it will solve the issue
