Slide Door Opener System

*h1. hello dear
How to design and calculate the suitable system with ac motor and gearbox used for open and close a slide gate weighs about 50 kg. moves horizontally with wheels on a distance of 3 meters in about 20 seconds , using pulleys or tooth gear ,
and controlled by push buttons , open - close.*
Please show design method and calculations. you can select the suitable type of ac motor, pulleys and gear box required .and method of connection .

Hi Sabah,

A gate/door with that weight is considered light. Most of the access control system installation like automated door/gates are directly estimated by just observing the material used and the dimension of the gate. You can read some of the guides like the given link below in which it shows a complete installation guide of automated gates that you can also use it with automated doors.

Thank you so much for your reply and for the website you have given to me.
It was very useful guide with a rich information.
But i need from you as a design engineer, to send the required calculations
( formulas) necessary to make a new design according to the variation in the basic requirements like the weight of the gate, the opening distance, .... etc, these may effect the H.P , torque and speed of the motor .
You may estimate the basic data required like the gate weight , the opening distance ...etc to do the calculation and design.
it is my hobby to make new designs , so I need the practical calculations necessary for that , with the control circuit diagrams if possible .
