Backfeeding power to grid

Hello,
I wonder about how feeding of power to the utility grid works.
For example - when I produce power in my home using solar panels, and I'm feeding the excess power back to the grid, how does it work?
Does it mean a reverse phase?

That reverse phase your referring is usually called net metering. It is when there is excess energy that is feed back to our power provider.

However, I am interested in the way your residential inverter feeding the grid.
Does it mean that the current flows in a reverse direction according to the power you supply?

From the statement that excess energy is fed back to the power grid, you can actually deduce that energy flows from one direction to another. Meaning that energy(which is power), consisting of voltage and current, flow in that direction.
