Which zigbee bridge to buy to control roller shutters via a Sonoff switch ?

WSRH 957 21

Which Zigbee bridge should I buy so I can use a Sonoff SNZB-01P button to control my Sonoff Dual R3 roller shutters, and will it work near the router?

Buy a Zigbee gateway such as the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro; the Sonoff RF Bridge R2 is the wrong model because it is for 433 MHz RF, not Zigbee [#21729886] The SNZB-01P is Zigbee-only, so it needs a Zigbee gateway, and the bridge acts as the intermediary between Zigbee devices and the Wi‑Fi network [#21727429][#21727505] The thread also says the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro integrates Zigbee and Wi‑Fi devices in one eWeLink app, so that is the recommended path for mixing the button with your Wi‑Fi Sonoff gear [#21728663] The Bridge Pro was confirmed as OK and has mesh support, but range is extended by mains-powered Zigbee devices, not by the battery button itself [#21732119][#21732537]

Hello, Gentlemen I have Sonoff appliances at home:

    - Sonoff basic for miscellaneous lighting
    - Sonoff Dual R3 for roller shutters

I bought a SONOFF SNZB-01P for roller shutters, to be more precise, to set them all to close when I leave and to open them when I return, with a single press.
I wanted to pair and it says to buy a zigbee bridge....

So I should buy for example this :

    https://www.mediaexpert.pl/dom/inteligentny-d...amp;gbraid=0AAAAADoIO6-88yLAK7vumsC9bA9GdDZ4u

Connect somewhere near the router and everything will work normally already ?

what waiting room? what does that mean?

Yes, if the devices are for Zigbee, they need a Zigbee to Wifi bridge to go out to the network.
I set up a home assistant and this is my bridge on the Raspberry Pi.

Unfortunately the SONOFF SNZB-01P only looks to Zigbee.

If a topic is set up in a place like Articles, it goes to the overview before the topic goes to the homepage.
The topic indicated is unfortunately not suitable for the homepage as it does not have the form of an article.
I am moving it to Smart Home IoT and bumping it up.

The gateway you chose ok, it is the intermediary between the ZB devices and the WiFi network and works as you write.
That button you bought is on Zigbee and for the roller shutters you have a relay on WiFi. The app is the same (eWeLink), so someone would have to write if the button on Zigbee can be used to trigger the WiFi switch. I only have WiFi devices from Sonoff.

So, what, return this button and buy another one that will work without any combination? If so, which one?

Don't give anything away, the button is good. AI wrote that this zigbee gateway connects the operation of the accessories thanks to a common app.

do you believe AI? i'm going to buy that zigbee pro and it's going to be lame and then what....

    Of course I believe:
"The Sonoff ecosystem with the Zigbee Bridge Pro gateway allows the integration of Zigbee and WiFi devices within a single application."

These are simple technical matters and the 3 AI models are compatible. By the way, devices on zigbee are more functional than those on WiFi, so you will go in a better direction.

i'm not going to change these sonoffs, I just bought them....

and as for the gateway, only this zigbee pro stays ? or something cheaper ?

But why change? After all, you can use two protocols. If you want to buy something else in the future, it should be on zigbee. I too have devices on WiFi and on zigbee, just separate apps (different ecosystems). And here you will have one. If you delve into what the differences are, you'll find out.

After all, the gateway is as cheap as borscht. There's also a sonoff dongle, but I see it's even more expensive.

Any gateway that supports zigbee and bt. For my part, I recommend the one with the integrated power supply. Less cumbersome.
Screenshot showing four different Zigbee and Bluetooth gateways from a shopping platform
And if you want automation without reaching for your phone. Then you buy buttons and make yourself the appropriate scenes.
Four-button Tuya Zigbee wireless scene switch, one button lit with green light
Here you have a four-button one. It allows you to program 12 scenes.

I would prefer something in a Polish shop so that I can return it if necessary....

Free market free choice and so this Polish shop will import it from China. These different gates I have already bought each one works. And if it doesn't work you can return it too. I think you get 4 returns a month for free. And you don't send it to China, the returns warehouse is in Poland. You print the labels and drop them into a parcel machine or return them to some Żabki shops. And that's it.

STOP, it won't be good, there is probably a mistake in the description there, it converts 433MhZ RF to WiFi, that is how you have RF sensors to connect over WiFi.
Look for a Zigbee type gateway.

As above, this gateway supports radio sensors. If 90£ is too much, look for used ones on olx.

Mains-powered zigbee (you don't have those) act as APs extending the zigbee network.

I was referring not to a bridge, but to devices like a network socket, relay, network switch etc. You have a wireless button, so it won't extend the network, because how would it?

FAQ

TL;DR: To link a SONOFF SNZB‑01P button with Dual R3 shutters, buy a Zigbee gateway. A 4‑button Zigbee remote supports 12 scenes, and “Any gateway that supports zigbee and bt.” Place it near your router and build eWeLink scenes. [Elektroda, kkknc, post #21728778]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps Sonoff users pick the right bridge and set up one‑tap open/close without buying the wrong hub.

Quick Facts

Which Zigbee bridge should I buy to use SNZB‑01P with Dual R3 shutters?

Choose a Zigbee gateway, such as Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro. Avoid RF‑only hubs. The Bridge Pro is confirmed by forum mods and supports Zigbee mesh, making it a safe pick for pairing your Zigbee button and managing shutters via eWeLink scenes. [Elektroda, gulson, post #21729886]

Will SONOFF RF Bridge R2 work with the SNZB‑01P button?

No. RF Bridge R2 converts 433 MHz RF to Wi‑Fi and does not support Zigbee. A Zigbee device like SNZB‑01P cannot pair with it. If you try, pairing will fail and the button won’t appear in the app. “STOP, it won’t be good.” [Elektroda, gulson, post #21729886]

Can a Zigbee button trigger my Wi‑Fi Sonoff Dual R3 within eWeLink?

Yes. The Sonoff ecosystem with Zigbee Bridge Pro integrates Zigbee and Wi‑Fi devices inside one eWeLink app. Create a scene that maps the SNZB‑01P press to the Dual R3 shutter actions. “Allows the integration of Zigbee and WiFi devices within a single application.” [Elektroda, roman106, post #21728663]

Do I need Home Assistant or a Raspberry Pi as my bridge?

You can, but you don’t have to. Some users run Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi as their bridge. If you prefer plug‑and‑play, the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro handles the Zigbee side while your existing Wi‑Fi Sonoffs stay in eWeLink. [Elektroda, gulson, post #21727429]

Where should I place the Zigbee Bridge Pro for best reliability?

Place it where Wi‑Fi is strong, then improve Zigbee coverage by adding mains‑powered Zigbee devices (sockets, relays). Those devices act as mesh repeaters. Battery buttons like SNZB‑01P do not extend the network, so coverage depends on your repeaters. [Elektroda, roman106, post #21732537]

Does the Bridge Pro extend range by itself, or do I need repeaters?

The Bridge Pro supports Zigbee mesh, but range grows once you add mains‑powered Zigbee devices that relay traffic. Add a Zigbee plug or in‑wall relay to strengthen distant rooms and improve button responsiveness. [Elektroda, roman106, post #21732537]

Is buying the Sonoff Bridge Pro from Allegro a safe choice?

Yes. A moderator confirmed the Bridge Pro as OK and highlighted its mesh support. Users in the thread reported ordering it from Polish marketplaces without issues. This makes it a practical choice if you want easy returns. [Elektroda, gulson, post #21732119]

What’s a lower‑cost option if Bridge Pro feels pricey?

Consider buying used hardware. Users suggest checking local marketplaces (e.g., OLX) for second‑hand Sonoff gateways at reduced prices. It’s a budget‑friendly way to get Zigbee capability without losing eWeLink compatibility. [Elektroda, roman106, post #21729899]

How many scenes can I program with a multi‑button Zigbee remote?

A four‑button remote can map up to 12 scenes when using single, double, and long presses. That’s enough to assign open/close/stop or room groups per press style. “It allows you to program 12 scenes.” [Elektroda, kkknc, post #21728778]

How do I make one button open or close all shutters?

  1. Pair SNZB‑01P to the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro in eWeLink.
  2. In eWeLink, create a Scene: When SNZB‑01P is pressed, set each Dual R3 to Open or Close.
  3. Add another scene for the opposite action or use multi‑press patterns. “Integration within a single application.” [Elektroda, roman106, post #21728663]

Will adding a Zigbee bridge affect my existing Wi‑Fi Sonoff devices?

No. You can run both protocols together. Keep your current Wi‑Fi Sonoffs and add Zigbee devices over time. With Bridge Pro, management stays in the same eWeLink app, simplifying mixed setups. [Elektroda, roman106, post #21728709]

I bought the wrong bridge. What failure symptoms should I expect?

If you purchased an RF‑only bridge (e.g., RF Bridge R2), Zigbee pairing will fail. The SNZB‑01P won’t enter pairing mode with it, and no new device will appear in eWeLink. Return it and choose a Zigbee gateway. [Elektroda, gulson, post #21729886]
