    Hello everyone...
I am looking for information on controlling any device via the home electrical network. I know a similar topic has been raised on the forum but received no response. I even found a website once featuring such an encoding-decoding device, but I’ve lost track of it.
I would be grateful for any replies from anyone who can help...

Such devices were described in *Praktyczny Elektronika* (back when it was still in print) and in *Elektronika dla Wszystkich*. If I can find them, I’ll provide the issue numbers.

As my mate Czesiek said, there was loads of it.
I promise to have a look too.
Tell us in more detail what you want to use it for. That’ll narrow down the search. :D
And I’ll take photos of the most interesting ones with my digital camera. Let me know if you’re interested. 8)

I know this is an old topic, but I’m just having a look through some material on smart homes and thought someone might be interested to know that Emiter (www.emiter.net.pl) offers a system that communicates via a 230V power supply line.

I have a question: has anyone here already built the circuit from *Nowy Elektronika* 1/2000 (Kit 047) and would be willing to share how it performs?

Unfortunately, the circuit uses one non-standard component, TR1:

We need to make the TR1 transformer ourselves using an F1001 cup-shaped ferrite core with a diameter of 18 mm and AL=100. First, we wind the Z1 winding with 160 turns, then the Z2 winding with 25 turns; the windings are made using 0.25 mm DNE wire. As the TR1 transformer also acts as an isolating transformer, it is very important to ensure there is solid insulation between the windings.

The only question is, where can one get this core and 0.25 mm DNE wire these days? I don’t think such items are available in typical electronics shops.

In the model design, they used something like this:

And there is space for one on the PCB.

I’m wondering if it’s reasonably easy to get hold of, or what to ask for so that people know straight away what I mean. Does this core have a part number or something?

Sorry for digging up such an old thread, but I’ve got a few questions.
Has anyone actually built this device?
What sort of range might a design like this have?
