    Welcome,

i've been experiencing quite a problem with the 'anti-burglary' roller shutter drives in the house for a few weeks now. Three of them, operating on different electrical circuits have stopped responding to the remote control. The trouble is that during the construction phase of the house I let myself be persuaded by the RKS box technology above the windows, as a result of which I only have access to the roller shutters and drives including the radio from the inside. For aesthetic reasons, in order to avoid conflict with my wife, I consciously decided to cover the inspection boxes with K-G board and to plaster and paint them. Access to them now requires more renovation. The installation is less than three years old.

The only option for controlling the roller shutters is a 16-channel remote control. The problem I am currently battling has occurred once in the past, but it only affected one roller shutter and resolved itself. Now three roller shutters on the same day have stopped responding to the remote, both on the individual channel and on the collective channel (to operate all the roller shutters simultaneously). It is not a question of distance, as normally the remote has a range of several metres, the signal coping with walls. In the three unlucky roller shutters, it does not even catch from several centimetres. However, I have noticed that disconnecting the power supply for a few seconds (switching off the fuse on the circuit) makes the roller shutters respond to the signal, but only once - I can lower them, but I can no longer stop them in the middle or raise them without temporarily cutting off the power supply again. So it is unlikely that the fault lies with the remote control. Initially, I thought it might be some device, a transmitter interfering with the frequency (three different roller shutters went off on the same day). However, I have no idea what this could be. Although the WiFi router was replaced not so long ago, it had been working flawlessly for several months. I even tried switching it off, the fault persisted.

Do any of you have any ideas what could be causing this and how to try to remedy the problem?

Thank you in advance for your help.
    Michael

PS. Apologies, but the matter is so unusual as to its subject matter that I will take the liberty of repeating the question in the Beginner's Radiotech forum

Do you have any data on what the controller is? How are the drives connected?

Do we have to search or guess for you what model of controller and control unit it is?

Thank you for pointing this out, unfortunately getting the information out of the company who fitted the blinds for me is not easy. I am trying to establish this.

    Hello
Did you manage to remove this fault?
I have exactly the same with the same equipment, when I disconnect the power with the fuse I can raise and lower the roller shutter, but only once. The next time, I also have to switch off the power supply.
If you have solved the problem, was it necessary to renovate the house? Did you have to get to the inspection boxes ??
    Best regards

    Welcome,

unfortunately I have not received any constructive advice. I even contacted the manufacturer's service department. They were unable to help remotely. They suggested that the capacitors might have "sprinkled" due to some kind of overvoltage. So it is unlikely to be an interference issue.

I have decided against an overhaul for the time being. As long as the fuse trick works I probably won't dare. However, I will certainly consider changing the type of roller shutters, if possible, to ones with external access. I think I'll be able to squeeze them into the insulation (polystyrene), while the RKSs will be "foamed" to prevent the wind from blowing.

I fortunately have the boxes just on the outside in polystyrene. In retrospect, I consider this to be a sensible solution.
I also called the manufacturer's technical department and they weren't able to diagnose much either due to the distance.
A repairman is due to come to repair it next week and if the fault can be rectified I will let you know.
In your case, do the roller shutters not work at all?
In my case, 3 out of 8 do not work and of these 3, one sometimes works and sometimes does not.

In my case, three out of fifteen do not work without a momentary power cut. Please let me know how I can diagnose the fault. As I wrote earlier in my case, getting to the boxes involves a major overhaul.

    Best regards,

fault cleared, so far in one roller shutter, but same issue with the rest.
the fault in our case relates to the receiver capacitor, which is integrated in the roller shutter tube.

Thanks for the information. You have confirmed the remote diagnosis of the service.

    Hello.
I also had a similar problem from time to time but it usually went away on its own.
I thought it was a weak remote control battery, I replaced it but that's not it.
E.g. today no roller shutter works.
Please let me know how much it costs to repair these capacitors.

For the 3 repaired roller shutters I paid 250 PLN and a bit of joint work to take everything apart and put it back together.
It works great flows from anywhere on the "mother" remote and on the collective channels.
    Good luck and best regards

Thanks for the info but I'll ask one more question. Did this repair involve actually soldering some capacitors or was it a simple replacement of the relay that controls the motor?
    Greetings

It was an actual capacitor replacement.
That's what I was told by the friend who did it, and since he's quite a professional and I trust him, I have no reason not to believe Anki.
