    Hello.
I'm renovating the living room and I'm planning the biggest revolution in lighting. There will be several light sources + LEDs. I need a hybrid solution, so classic switches + remote control (separate remote +smartphone).

To start with, I was thinking about Philips HUE. 16 million colours I don't need but changing from warm to cold white would be useful. I would still carry the starter kit but the next bulbs >250PLN is a bit excessive.

Now I'm thinking about Fibaro. And I think that by combining all the elements I could achieve more than I initially expected.
I've read, looked through the instructions, watched videos and I only have a few doubts and a request to people familiar with the Fibaro system for explanations.

    Fibaro offers:
    - Single/Double Switch
    - Relay Switch
    - Double Relay Switch

I thought Switch was a switch for lights - single/double depending on which switch you connect to.

And Relay is a relay to control sockets i.e. we control a device that is connected to that particular socket type on/off.

I watched the demo videos on the Fibaro website and, in addition to the applications I mentioned above, they connect both Switch to sockets and Relay to switches and I don't know where the difference is?

What is the difference between their Switch and Relay products?

I'm guessing that the control via Smartphone is only via LAN?
I came up with the idea that by using Relay I could operate the Faac drive for the entrance gate and the Hormann from the garage door. Everything would be in one place.
The z-wave range would probably be ok (each device extends the range) but I don't have the range of my WiFi on the street in front of the gate, so I don't think my idea can be realised? Is it possible to control my control panel also via WAN? How secure is this? ;-)

There is also such a thing as a Dimmer - a lighting dimmer.
You connect the Home Center with a cable to your router; you can even access it from an external network.

Generally it is as you say, switch - switch, relay - literally relay, control of various devices e.g. roller shutters etc. What is the main reason that you want to load cash into external modules and then have connectivity problems? In a house with a property, gate and the rest of the equipment any cable solution will always work much better, who knows if at your place with a gate you won't have to run a cable anyway, see at least the basic Deimic one module even without an extension and you also have a breakdown on switches, relays and a mass of others.

Thank you for the hint. I have spent a week looking at various solutions. Deimic and yes - I would get the same result, but it would mean renovating the whole cottage. Installing in the switchboard and running a low-voltage control system everywhere.
I am only renovating the living room. I will indeed run a cable from the gate to the garage, but I can take care of everything in the building without demolishing it. I can handle Fibaro on my own, by studying the videos and instructions. As far as I can see, the Deimic requires an electrician to install it in the switchboard.

Deimic as far as I can see already requires an electrician to embed it in the switchgear.

Fibaro too - after all, it controls 230V powered devices.

    Closing because the system asks.
