Hello I would like to find out how to use the ESP-12 ESP8266 WiFi Module to retrieve the data stored in the database. I have searched the internets and have not found anything specific :/ if anyone knows how to do this I hope for help or links ;)

What do you mean by this? Do you want to send a query to the SQL server? Do you want to send it to a web server, which communicates with the database server and returns the data? Do you want to put SQL on an ESP?

Actually I didn't write clearly, my problem is that I have a database on the server which has the times when the lights are on and off (e.g. an LED strip outside) I would like the module to retrieve from this database for example once an hour: -current time, -the time the LEDs were switched on, -the time the LEDs are switched off.

you connect to a web server, on the web server you write a script in php e.g. www.xxx.xxx/sktypt.php?par1=xxxx&par2=xxxx etc script queries the database, and the response is the data you are interested in.

And could you show me how such a script would look like ? I still don't know how the script sends the data. I'd like to add that I'm a beginner and would ask for detailed information.
