Hello, I came across a project of my friend Duch__
    https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3108844.html
I didn't want to litter my colleague's thread. I would like to implement the wifi-> rs232 adapter, but esp would have to work as an AP, connecting to it I would gain access to the rs232 port, and in the laptop I would see the com port to which I would connect using the program. The genesis is such that for LED advertising to which I once had a remote control, which I lost some extra wireless alternative control, because this advertisement has an rs232 port. This is an advertisement for the sigma ASC333 brand. I have no idea how to do this, I bought the esp8266-01 module.

This is a led advertisement and I don't have an IR remote for it, but you can control the display, configure it via rs232. But I can't pull the transmission cable. Sigma asc333

Ask google about "esp8266 serial bridge" you will get a lot of information. Examples of links that look promising at a glance:
