I have a garage door with a somfy dexxo 1000 operator and would like to operate it with WIFI from my system such as domoticz, here you can find the exact pictures of what the leads look like (page no 12):

But unfortunately I am not able to understand from this how to control this gate from my board.

    1. where does the voltage have to be applied for the gate to open/close? Should I short the 2 start pins, #16 and #17? (this is how I understand the picture above)
    2) Is it possible to divide opening/closing into two buttons (i.e. to control opening and closing separately, and not as it is by default that the next action is the reverse of the previous one, i.e. open/close/open/close etc)?

    Please help

ok, first question solved because I checked, shorting the two start pins turns on the opening/closing of the gate however it is alternating. The second question is still open, I will clarify:

Do I have the possibility with this drive to control separately closing, separately opening and separately stopping? (I.e. if I had 3 buttons connected to the remote control, the "open" button would always cause the door to open/close when I pressed it, even if it was already open).

The operator only has contacts for connecting sequential control, to get directional control you need to use an additional transmitter, which in Somfy is labelled Dry Contact Transmitter. I am enclosing the instructions.

Ok, so to summarise the topic, the only option I can see is directional control via logic on a microcontroller with the help of an encoder. I've already set up the encoder (a cheap £3 encoder), with the software filtering it works very well, I've tested about 15-20 times today and it always shows a very accurate current position of the gate.

Basically, if it works without errors for a few days, I will add logic to open/close based on the movements of the gate (i.e. if I press close on the "remote control", moments later it will detect from the encoder if the gate is actually closing, if it is opening then the microcontroller will continue to "click" until it starts to close)

Photo of how it looks like in my case:

If anyone wants the code + STL files for 3D printing I can make them available
