    Hello,
I have a defro sigma E boiler and there is only an RS plug on the boiler controller. Am I able to buy somewhere such a tip/adapter to later convert to RJ45 to connect to the signal amplifier from which I want to connect the internet to the boiler. The old models had a plug for RJ45, but they are no longer profitable and you have to buy an additional module ....
I attach a photo Defro Sigma E boiler RS port to RJ45 adapter for internet connectivity options .

If I understand the topic of the post and the problem contained in the post itself correctly. You want to use an adapter to connect the RS232 signal directly to a socket on the Switch or Router. This cannot be done. The only such adapter is the interface offered by the boiler controller manufacturer. There is no other possibility.

What is this connection called on the Defro TS and how is it different from rj45 apart from one having 6 wires and the other 8?

This is exactly like asking what is the difference between a chair and an electric chair, since the inserts in both are the same.

The 6 and 8 PIN plugs look very similar, both are transparent and have several contacts.... Few. The 6-pin one can easily be inserted into an 8-pin socket.

However, the signal standards are drastically different, it can be done with something => such <=. If the Defro TS supports RS communication. But that's actually a vaguely asked question.
