    Hi,
I am planning to make a propane-butane cooker for melting aluminium. The "drum" in which the temperature will be maintained will be fed with air from a compressor and gas from a propane-butane cylinder in optimum quantities to burn the gas.
My only problem is with the flame sensor, so that when the fire goes out it cuts off the fuel supply.
I was thinking of buying some kind of "photo" sensor that would "look" at the presence of the flame, I could make a hole in the drum and insert some layers of heat resistant glass, kind of like a judas for the sensor. Can you recommend any photo-sensors, controllers to work with the sensor (I have an arduino) and above all valves that could work with such a sensor?
    Thank you for your replies

There are suitable burners with appropriate safety features for this type of equipment. Such combinations can end badly. There is a valve assembly with pressure sensors, etc. Industry is well aware of everything.

Perhaps a valve assembly with a flame sensor from the gas heater would suffice?

The one in the link is out.
It has to be a manually-triggered valve with flame sensor support, it is supposed to cut off the gas if the flame disappears.
This is how it is solved in these cheap (and probably expensive) heaters.
Search the internet under "heater gas valve" etc.
