    Hi buddy, okay so I have the .iso image, it is a compressed image, when I open it, I see also another zip/rar file, does this need to be extracted and placed with the other files of the same name, so they overwrite the first set of files?
    Then these files written to a cd?
    Or do I just burn the zipped files to a cd? I'm not sure the rns315 will unzip anything, I wasted a few cd's too which is annoying as I can only get them online after a few days wait.

    I have an RNS315 radio in Seat (Media System 2.2). Will the updates from the first post also fit this, or are they only for VW and would change the logo etc for me?
    If they are only for VW, does anyone have updates to the Seat RNS 315 Media System 2.2 version 0263 radio?

    I have the same problem. CDs do not work. There are "CD errors."
    I found a solution. My first CD that I burned uses the UDF file system. RNS-315 does not recognize UDF file system. Installation does not start.

    Next CD I burned with CDBurnerXP exactly as @faurionutz described in post #57 and now CD works! The reason is that CDBurnerXP uses the ISO9660 file system by default.

    SUMMARY: CD must be created with ISO9660 file system . File system UDF does not work.

    It worked for me with the right program (ImgBurn) and the right format. With a no-name CD-R. Update duration on the car less than 10 minutes. Old: 0500 --> New: 0501. Thank you!

    There is an update for Skoda and Seat in the file
    The device will select the appropriate software version for itself.
    I recommend recording on verbatim.

    For me, the installation went without a problem RNS-315 2015 with SW 05xx versions
    VW_EU_1508-0501 / ?00.5001.67.99. It didn't even last 10 minutes.

    Hello everyone, I'm new too. My software version is 0319 and the hardware version is H52. Skoda Yeti 2013 with Amundsen part number 3T0035192H. The update from thread #69 was burned with CDBurnerXP as ISO9660/Joliet on Verbatim CD-R and unfortunately after inserting the CD the "Error: internal device" comes up. Same error when burning ISO with ImgBurn. I would also like to update to 0330 for later map updates - what's wrong here: blank? Burner? burning program? Or hardware failure of the RNS315? Navigation data is "EUR_W_0038" - do I also run the risk of an "internal device" error with a V12 map (navigation AZ Europe West)?

    I have RNS315 US Version in 2011 Golf GTI. Need update.

    SW: 0007
    HW: H04
    NDT: NAR V01

    I'm guessing this is a very base version compared to what others have, probably has never been updated after first sale.

    Which version of ISO image should I use? If there is a chance to update US version with these EU files.

    Confirmed, working! Updated my year 2013 Passat with RNS 315 today, it had software version 0319, now it's 0330.

    The key is to first extract the .rar file, then extract the .iso file, then burn the four files directly to the disk (this way they are burned in ISO9660/Joliet format and the RNS 315 can read it). Not to use the .iso as a "source". I used CDBurnerXP, Buffalo external DVD drive, Maxell CD-R disks, 24x speed. The update itself took about 10-15 minutes.

    Finding a CD/DVD Writer in 2023 was the most difficult part for me. Lol. But the kids' faces thinking I'm some sort of ninja (or a psychopath) walking to my car with a CD on my finger... priceless.

    The first ISO/zip from the first post worked perfectly for me (my 2012 VW Passat). Burned CD with ImgBurn free software at 10x speed.

    RNS 315 multiregion SD map update

    Hi all!

    I just bought my Tiguan 2013 here in São Paulo, Brazil, but my RNS315 multimedia navigation system keeps saying that I'm in Mexico, and does not deliver my actual map of Brazil, although it keeps moving and navigating on the screen on 'Mexico streets' — as if it were updating my compass in real-time.
    So here I am asking for a clue or if maybe someone can here share a technical contact that would help me fix it, instead of going to a VW official seller...
    It would be great!!
