Via USB with a USB stick it is not possible to enter the settings, but I wonder if there is any other possibility of updating via a computer via USB

    My advice:
    Report, report and report again.
The more publicized the case, the greater the chance for a service action. A self-respecting manufacturer cannot afford to disregard the customer.
We have already had such actions in history, e.g. SONY, ONKYO, PHILIPS and others. The devices were repaired free of charge even several years after the warranty.

How will the producer carry out such an action? There are several methods:
    1. Mostly repair on site
    2. New soft "healing" online. Yes, despite the continuous restart, it is possible.
    3. Not likely, but they can provide a soft "healing" boot with USB files.

We always have time for repair on our own. Also going bad.
So I advise you to wait.

A bit strange symptoms for an expired certificate.

Hello, I do not know if this certificate has expired but my HT-J5500W was offline for a month and also started to show identical symptoms at the same time. At https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Home-Thea...ing-whenever-plugged-in/td-p/1278935/page/145 there are thousands of reports of the same problem from around the globe. I wonder if and when Samsung will provide a solution to this problem. Half year player after warranty ...

I'm not sure that this is a faulty certificate, they would quickly fix this problem, it looks to me that someone has issued (maybe hacking?) Damaged files that were downloaded by samsung devices.

Let it be true, however, user accounts show that the devices have a problem to properly start and receive the Internet from the home router.

The matter is very strange. The more that as they write on the Samsung forum, it was revealed to some people only yesterday. If something faulty was displayed on samsung servers, they would be able to block it during these few days. In my eye, it is unlikely that Samsung would at the same time want (after many years without any updates) to suddenly modify the firmware on so many different device models.
I wonder if this applies to all copies in the world or is someone still working?

I can speculate or guess, but maybe the devices were connecting to a specific host / address / domain in search of new firmware. The domain or address has been taken over and strange data has been issued that has downloaded the devices. Some devices downloaded it much later. Address / host / domain can't easily be taken back because their permissions have expired? Large corporations have been forgetting to renew domains or hosts or certificates for a long time, so maybe that's the reason - simple inattention?

I checked now and my player has not been connected since mid-January this year. (then I replaced the router and did not connect it to the network). I did the fw update right after buying it in 2018 - the 2017 version and newer was not. At the beginning I thought that on the power supply one of the voltages breaks out but when I came across the notifications of other holders I left him alone. I wonder if you can get the original charge and throw it using the programmer. On the samsung website, they strained information about this problem quite sparingly.

Do I understand correctly that your equipment has been disconnected from the Internet since January, and a few days ago you started it (still without a connection to the net) and you have symptoms like the rest (cyclical boot restart)?

I used mainly smart on TV and the equipment served me mainly as an amplifier (d-in, aux, bt), no connection needed. The answer to your question is yes, it was offline and fell at the same time ... Killswitch?

Well, now I was quite stupid ... If the Internet connection was not needed for the system to crash, what remains? Sabotage of an pissed-off Samsung employee who stitched a "time bomb" in the software?

I do not think that the equipment will be damaged without an internet connection. Maybe he had a connection set up, though? This is a moment of moment, seconds and you will download the wrong firmware.
And some just yesterday Samsung devices began to reset.

I didn't configure this connection. At https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Home-Thea...ing-whenever-plugged-in/td-p/1278935/page/153 I also saw a post from someone who he had an older model and was also offline when it happened. I doubt that the player will suck something in January and only now it shouted out. In my free time I will try to plug it into LAN and see if it will be visible on the network. The display does not reset, it can and the LAN works. Earlier I had a Pioneer player that had a telnet server running and could be accessed from pc via lan, maybe it can be done here.

    Hello.
Home cinema is J5500W and the same symptoms you write about. Equipment all the time online, even on Thursday (25.06) in the evening worked normally. Now I came back over the weekend and did not fire ... I am waiting hoping that they will do something about it.

I have HT-J4200 connected HDMI and optical to Smart TV. Cinema connected with a net cable.

Just 2 months after the warranty and I have the same "spells".
Once enabled, it resets (turns on / off) and you can't click on anything in the menu.

After inserting the disc there is LOAD and nothing loads.
Radio (RDS works) is shown on the display but the sound "0".

Today I called the Samsung helpline and when it comes to the Blu Ray player, I am supposed to take it to the service in Gdańsk and there is a topic there. Only who ... has to cover the costs of transport or courier .... ???? As for home theaters they haven't figured it out ....

    Hello,
Today I got a reply from Samsung to the post which I posted on their fb profile.

Due to the inconvenience that has affected the users of some Blu-Ray players and Samsung home theaters, please visit the nearest authorized service center. We offer free repairs to the mentioned equipment. Details about the site location
If you have any questions, please contact our hotline directly at: 801-172-678 or +48 22 607-93-33.

    EDIT:
I have just reached an authorized service center in Katowice Elton Sp. z o. o. Address: ul. Grażyńskiego 58, 40-126, a nice lady informed me that I can give the equipment back but ... they don't have the solution yet, there are attempts to reset this device but in HT models (I have HT-J5500) it doesn't work ... so it remains to wait

On the Samsung forum, users write that apparently engineers have found a solution to the problem and you can return the device to the service for free ... In the morning I will check if it is true :)

Well, I already have the equipment repaired (HT-J4550). I called Samsung a second time last Friday. The lady gave me contact details for a Samsung authorized service center and I took the equipment there (of course, repair for free, even after the warranty). Today telephone and equipment for reception. They played soft, which Samsung provided them, but they do not know if it was the same version as before the disaster or any newer (at first glance nothing has changed). They also know nothing about the causes of the problems. Just in case, I turned off automatic software update checking. Everything is fluttering.

They fixed my blue ray in 5 minutes.
They upload soft via irda on the website. Last week they were able to do BR but it was still "medium" with home theaters.
    I didn't find out more.

Everyone who has this problem, please contact Samsung websites or the Samsung Hotline. Everyone will be served as per warranty. Don't bury alone because you can't handle this home method.

I gave my HT-J5500 player to Samsung service, after 3 days I picked up with the new soft load, everything works as before. The repair was free.

    I've also already repaired.
They did right away in 10 minutes.
The lady on the website said that the reason for the failure was downloading faulty software.
