Good afternoon, I recently came up with the idea of creating a display consisting of 4 single (single digit) 7 segment LED displays based on an ESP8266 NodeMCU v3 to display the time. The problem arises precisely with handling all four displays. The module has 10 ports which makes one port missing (7 for the display segments and 1 for each individual display making 11 ports needed). I could use another display that has 4 digits per display and immediately fewer pins or the MAX7219, but I would like to try with the first option first. Hence the question to experienced people - how can this problem be solved?
