As of today, I am the happy owner of a speaker with a microphone in the Google Home system, which, so far, controls the lighting in the flat and the TV via the Google Chromecast 3.0 module. In the next step, I intend to buy smart thermostatic radiator heads from Netatmo and a richly equipped weather station from the same company, which even measures the concentration of carbon dioxide in the air in the flat.

Thanks to the Google Chromecast 3.0 module, which is connected to the TV via the HDMI port, I can turn the TV on and off with my voice, turn on any song from YouTube or Spotify, I can turn on radio stations from those available on the TuneIN service, I can watch movies on Netfilx, I can adjust the volume because it all happens on that HDMI port to which the Chromecast is connected. However, I am not able to voice control the viewing, selecting TV programmes, setting TV parameters etc. I've searched the internet to see if newer TVs with an Android operating system and a WiFi card can do such things, but haven't found any. Am I thinking correctly that such TV control features on Google Home are not yet available on the planet?

I would like to point out that although the Google Home speaker still does not support Polish, I am very impressed by the sensitivity of the microphone, which even when playing music on the TV from a good few metres away recognises my voice commands. This is a really successful product. I am, of course, waiting for an update to the Polish version.

And one more detail, it would be nice to address the Google Assistant by name and not by "OK, Google..." or "Hey, Google...".
In this article it is explained that Google had its reasons for not naming the assistant.
And in this article a rather complicated way is given how you can 'hack' into your smartphone and give a name to your Google Assistant to call it just by name. Does anyone know of a simpler way?

Do you know of any site with popular Google Assistant Home commands?
    I found a such listing.

Interestingly, Radio 357 and Radio New World are available via the TuneIN service, but does anyone know how to turn them on by voice via Google Home? I have tried various ways and unfortunately no success. On the other hand, I can turn on RMF FM, TOK FM, Radio ZET and Polskie Radio Katowice (the latter with the "Polish Radio" command) without any problems.

Oh dear lord, I too have been waiting for a long time. There was a period where it was available (by some miracle), and it was really enjoyable to use. Especially as it worked in both Polish and English at the time. Then it disconnected from the google Home app for me and Polish evaporated just as quickly as it appeared haha

When I try to play something on the TV (I have Android TV + Chromecast built in) using Google Home e.g. On Netflix, it tells me it will play, then says it can't for now. Lame.

It has been reported that Polish sometimes appears in the Assistant, which is said to be due to ongoing tests by Google.

And can you change TV programmes, watch TV, control TV settings like brightness, colours, contrast etc.?

Just when they were talking about these tests it was somehow a month later that I managed to switch on. How - I don't know myself, because I didn't try these methods of all the people on the net to speak to it in Polish many times or something it turned on. Somehow it just set itself up by itself haha

On Cable I don't want to change the channel, the volume goes up and down with no problem, and as for the brightness settings etc I don't want to try because I had a calibration done and don't want to mess it up haha

Volume or programme controls work on some TVs with AndroidTV. Perhaps this will be developed in the future and the list of fully supported TVs will grow. You can use RMMini, for example, and control devices via IR.

Thanks sk1977, this is something I was looking for. :) .
Just wondering which model to choose RM4 mini or RM pro+? What are the main differences? Does it make sense to pay extra for the pro+? Is the set-up easier on the pro+?

And with me on Android TV I control the volume, change channels, turn on camera images etc. The only thing I can't do for now is control Netflix although I can run it. I do this using adb. An example script is in this section of the forum.
In fact, if I'm stubborn I can control Netflix too except that it's inconvenient.
The only thing needed is Node-Red

Yes, the pro+ model additionally supports radio remote controls and has a power supply included - the RM4 mini model does not have a power supply.

I change channels with the commands channel up AND channel down.
But this can be changed to any command.
Because it is not in the standard but through node-red-contrib- nora

"Set the light to warm/cold" but the specific value I have not tried.

For me, "change the light to warm/cold white" works. But I still found a third level of light temperature "warm glow". :)

I have a Brugman VK-Universal 21s 600/400 radiator in the room at 529W with a Schlosser head (probably a Diamant DZ model), and a D412/1150mm radiator in the bathroom at 478W with an Altech head. I intend to purchase so-called smart thermostatic heads and have become interested in such Netatmo NVP-EN .

I have determined that the heads on my radiators are probably these:
    1) Schlosser Diamant DZ with RA-N thread M23.5x1.5 and here where it is also marked M23x1.5
    2) Altech with M30x1.5 thread.

I am attaching pictures of my radiators and heads.
    Will these fit together?
On the website of smart head manufacturer Netatmo I found this thread compatibility chart .

Today I found out that Radio New World turns on in Google Home with the voice command "Play SIM Radio" (es-aj-em). :)

Radio 357, on the other hand, can be switched on a bit around, i.e. with the command "Ask simple radio to play Radio 357". You have to remember that you have to exit simple radio mode with the command "exit simple radio" to be able to control the devices in the house.

    Welcome,

I use Amazon's Alexa, but the idea is similar in terms of collaborative devices.

I bought from Chinese ;) and both the pro+ and mini had power supplies....
The pro+ is a nice little device, it supports radio control in addition to IR remote controls. It works nicely with Broadlink's TC2 series of back box switches. They do not require a neutral wire in the box and work stably. There are 1, 2 and 3 circuit versions.
In addition, a cool option for voice assistants are LED drivers from Milight. For LED strips, there are the new Milight WL5 series drivers - universal under which you can connect single-colour strips as well as RGB, RGB-W, etc.
Broadlink also has cool remote switches (such sockets for sockets ;) ) with night lighting (small LED). Various timers and on/off schedules can be programmed in the app.

    Greetings.

Broadlink's TC2 in-box switches are an interesting idea. But how will these work with the TP-Link Tapo L530E WiFi bulbs? I suspect that operation may get complicated, as I will only be able to switch on the bulbs via WiFi if the TC2 is switched on with the radio remote beforehand. And this will make managing the house more difficult rather than easier.

I already have two socket-in-socket switches: the TP-Link Tapo P100. I use them to control the desk lamp and the light in the kitchen hood - because I don't use the fan in the hood.

bhtom , have you come across any more powerful WiFi RGBW bulbs? This Tapo L530E model went on sale just a few days ago and is 8.7W and 806 lumens bright. I need in one place in the house to have a bulb with, for example, 13W and 1500 lumens. I currently have a white bulb of this wattage, only it is standard, not controlled by WiFi.

It is rather understandable that this type of switch is used for 'standard' lighting circuits.

I haven't come across any because I haven't looked either - I haven't had the need. I use mostly standard GU10 cold white LED bulbs. Plus 12V DC LED strips also cold white for localised illumination.

I found such a more powerful 13W and 1500 lumen bulb in this shop .
However, the listing does not state whether it works with Google Home.

    [Edit]
Here it is stated that it works with Google Home. :) .

It is generally difficult to find a sufficiently powerful and qualitatively satisfactory RGBW bulb on WiFi. Better in terms of colour and brightness are LED strips where they can be used.
Another issue is wifi - it has many disadvantages - think zigbee for example. And another point. It all works in the cloud, if there is no internet it will stop working - it is then worth having an alternative other than a torch :) .
As for the voice control I have AI-Speaker to test more thoroughly but lack of time.... it works locally so what it hears is not for sale, it is independent of the internet, and it recognises Polish.

Interesting product this AI-Speaker. In addition to what you wrote, its big advantage is the ability to control the home also from a PC. This is what I miss about Google Home. However, so far this system is in the early stages of development, as it only has a few items on offer . I suspect that when the system AIS home develops, then Google Home will also already be available in Polish.

Actually, now I see that a lot of it. :) .
However, since I've already entered Google Home, I'll stick with it and wait impatiently for Polish language support.

Apparently there are smart home system emulators for PCs. Can you point to any specific examples of Windows apps that work with Google Home?

    [Edit]
I found Android emulators , but which one to go for...?

    Added after 1 [hour] 53 [minutes]: .

In the end, after reading tips and testing, I chose the BlueStacks emulator. It works great. I first installed the Andy emulator, but it was much inferior and returned errors. BlueStacks is fast and very intuitive to use. I installed home management apps, including Google Home, from the Play shop without any problems. And everything works.
Controlling the home by voice is something very interesting, but the fact that, as a man who spends most of his day sitting at a desk and works on a desktop computer, I can also control the home with a mouse under Windows is a huge convenience! :D .
In addition, I discovered that after installing the Google Assistant in this emulator, I can control the house in Polish, sitting at my desk, via the microphone of a webcam connected to the PC. You just have to wake up the assistant in listening mode with the mouse first, by clicking the microphone icon, because it doesn't respond to the command "OK, Google...". - as this then triggers listening on the external Google Home speaker, which expects messages in English.

Can no one advise anything on my post about replacing the heads on my radiators with Netatmo smart ones?
I have written to a company in Zabrze about this, which the manufacturer of the Netatmo smart heads indicates on their website as an authorised service provider, but they are silent. I have also written to the manufacturer of the radiator and also silence. I wrote to the manufacturers of the heads currently fitted and Altech confirmed that it would be M30x1.5 thread, so it is compatible, and Schlosser that the head works with Danfoss 013g7360 valve inserts with RA-N type connection, and I found on some shop's website that it would be M23.5x1.5 size, where it says below that it is M23x1.5 size, so it is unclear whether 23 or 23.5. In the thread compatibility list on the Netatmo website, it says size 23 and 23.5 is not there.

    - you would probably find an answer quicker on the heating installers forum. The information on the shops' websites can be misleading.

The google assistant on phones/tablets is also in Polish. And there is none on the speakers.... What you've learnt is a small part of SmartHome - and an add-on rather than the main element. As you delve deeper you'll find a lot of new possibilities - and you'll probably find that google home has a lot of flaws and can do very little :) .

Before I took up this topic here, I had previously posted on the heating forum , but nobody has written back so far....

The Google Assistant is of course on the smartphone in Polish and you can control the house in Polish, but it is non-functional, not to say annoying, because you have to hold the phone in your hand and you have to unlock the screen before issuing each command. That's why this Windows smartphone emulator solution is much better for me.

From within the app, I can set the light to any colour I want. And how do I do it by voice through the Google Home command?
I know that if the colour has a name, it can be done like this for example:
set/change the light in the kitchen to orange/blue/yellow/purple/green etc. .

And what voice command is used to change the light in the kitchen to a colour such as: FF710A?
    Does anyone know?
Is it even possible to do this via Google Home?

In the app from the WiFi bulb manufacturer I can set a particular colour and save it as a scene. Maybe it is this scene that needs to be called up via Google Home - but with what command?

And then there is this question:

I would like to add a new user, my partner, to the Google Home system so that she can also control the devices by voice. For her to be able to do this, does she have to have a GMail account and must she have her smartphone? Because after all, Google Home has to learn her voice somehow, just like it learned mine in the beginning. If she doesn't have a smartphone and doesn't have a Gmail account, can she also give voice commands?

I have Full HD indoor cameras at home TP Link Tapo C200 which I manage via the Tapo app on my smartphone and PC. The only voice command I know for them in Google Home is "show camera #NAME on TV" . But I would also like to be able to, for example, rotate the camera left or right, up and down, as I do in the smartphone app. It would be nice if I could, with my voice, rotate the camera to a pre-recorded position, i.e. as I do in the smartphone app - this would be useful when joining sex to rotate all the cameras backwards, i.e. with the lens towards the walls. Currently I have to rotate each camera separately in the app.
Do any of you home users or home automation people know how to control these cameras with voice commands via Google Home?
Because I don't think it's possible to do anything more with them than display the image from a particular camera on the TV....

The manufacturer of these cameras on its website states that it is not possible to switch the cameras on and off with voice commands, as this could be done by an intruder. Probably for the same reason, it is not possible to control the cameras by voice in other ways, such as panning. This can only be done from an app on a smartphone, or on a PC via a smartphone emulator.

I have been a happy user of WiFi light bulbs from manufacturer Spectrum SMART for the past two months, and WiFi switches for the past month. I was until today, because today, when trying to control them via the Google Home assistant, I received the response that Spectrum SMART was not available. So I opened Google Home on my smartphone and indeed every one of the Spectrum SMART devices was offline. At the same time, I checked that all Spectrum SMART devices could be switched on and off with my finger via the Spectrum SMART app without any problems. So, in Google Home I selected the option „reconnect with Spectrum SMART”, but it did not help. I did this several times, to no avail. I then selected the „disconnect Spectrum SMART” option, because I wanted to reconnect to Google Home afterwards. Then all the Spectrum SMART receivers disappeared from Google Home, which was obvious, but it turned out that unfortunately it is not possible to connect Google Home to Spectrum SMART. When I select Spectrum SMART from the extensive list of services to add it to Google Home, it sort of thinks for about 2 seconds, then nothing happens, it doesn't appear in the list of added services. I have performed this action many times, to no avail. I still have 3 cameras at home from the manufacturer Tapo. So I did a test, also disconnected the Tapo service from Google Home and then reconnected it without any problems. I also performed a WiFi network reset, but this did not help. I also uninstalled the Google Home app on my smartphone and reinstalled it, but that didn't help either. I also removed my home from Google Home and added it again, also did not help.

I bought the WiFi bulbs and WiFi switches mainly with the idea of controlling them by voice via Google Assistant. As such, they are useless.
Currently, all I have connected to Google Home is a Google smart speaker, Chromecast 3.0 for TV control, and 3 Tapo cameras.

    Please help.
