[Solved] WIWA MAXX New firmware - I would be grateful for the information

Where can I find a new verified firmware for the WIWA MAXX decoder?

There does not seem to be any newer official firmware than V5.1.0.52 from 10 Nov 2020, and WIWA does not publish firmware on its website; updates are usually only available via OTA/Internet or USB from files found online [#19595704][#19595750][#19597961][#19685491] The service-recommended update procedure is to do a factory reset before updating, then use System -> Software update -> USB update, and finally perform another factory reset after the update [#19597961] Even after updating to 0.52, users still reported problems such as EPG issues, YouTube/weather app failures, and timeshift instability, so there is no confirmed firmware that fully fixes the MAXX [#19597961][#19598152]

Unfortunately, WIWA has never made any firmware available on its websites for ever. You have the option to contact wiwa serwis (generally helps) or check OTA update (Internet required)

They used to make it available, but these are prehistoric times.

This is not a problem, I have this option (LAN and WIWA USB WiFi adapter), but before using this option, I would prefer to find out from my colleagues if there is something new, proven, not necessarily from the manufacturer's side.

    EDIT:

    But cheap.
Just explain it to the client.
This is where the "problem" is.

Adjustment. As it turns out, they are not dead, but there is a problem with turning on the YT. Once it connects, the second time it doesn't.

Generally, all DVB-T tuner manufacturers that have this application implemented have a problem with YT. This is due to the fact that YT frequently changes the api, and the firmware developers rarely update it, because, as they say, the YT application is an added value without a guarantee of proper operation.
WIWA is no exception to this

    I know.
The software can be downloaded from the Internet and this is probably the only way.
I was downloading 2x. If it is possible, make a copy of what you have, because there is no way back. Fortunately, the newer versions were only better and didn't break anything, so it should be the same here as well.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to rip to full length, and direct reading from memory, in my opinion, does not make sense so far.

My observations on these tuners ..
Wiwy has many bugs in the software, the website is not eager to remove them. The last firmware was from November 2020
The weather app no longer works on these tuners. Wiwy claims that the distributor turned it off. Youtube works once and fails. Internet applications can crash LITE and PRO tuners when trying to run them. WIWA MAXX has problems with the bars showing the duration of a given program from the beginning, once it shows no, in Pro and LITE it works well. All these tuners have a problem with the TIMESHIFT function (forcing the channel change when this function is active leads to the tuners being suspended) ..

Various firmware found on the Internet. Files packed in zip format. You have to unpack it before uploading. Of course you upload at your own risk ..

Instructions recommended by the WIWY service
    -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ----
Factory reset must be performed before and after the update.

    So we start with:

    - press the "menu" button on the remote control.
    - select the "System" tab (gear)
    - choose "Restore factory settings"
    - password: 000000

    Next:

    - press the "menu" button on the remote control.
    - select the "System" tab (gear)
    - select "Software update" -> "USB update"

After the update is complete, the decoder will reset itself. We restore
    reset to factory settings.

I have not done factory settings once. For me it is a mockery, a witchcraft mary.
It is as if everything has come in and now kick in .... to make it work out.
Factory settings only change what the user has entered and he will enter it as he had ...

This instruction is sent by the WIWY service, I wrote it.
The factory settings on these tuners will not restore everything to the factory state. Such lists to IPTV, once uploaded, will remain in the tuner's memory, even after restoring factory settings. You can remove them by uploading an "empty" list of xxx.m3u or old firmware (you will then be able to delete them)

    Gentlemen, "grace."
I am grateful for all the advice, but I would not like to be sneered by me because of me.

@ 2 Tom How can I download this file ?: WIWA MAXX New firmware - I would be grateful for the information

Successfully downloaded, I'll check it tomorrow and let you know.

    EDIT:

    Updated to version: ... 0.52 Nov 10 2020.
The problem still remained (EPG and more).

    Thank you for your help.
For now, I leave the topic open, maybe something new will appear in the meantime.

    Regards.

Why don't you throw it in the trash like I did? This decoder is good for nothing! The Wiwa company made this product out of spite. She lost clients. I, for example, will not buy anything from this company.

After installing version V5.0.0.54 the decoder works even worse. After each power outage in the socket, all channels are deleted and you have to re-upload them about their arrangement, if I do not mention it. YT still doesn't work. It is impossible to go back to the previous versions of the software. WIWA will probably not correct it anymore, because if it were to do it, it would have already done so. If anyone else has the option of returning this sell, they should do so.

The software you have installed, V5.0.0.54, is very old and buggy, and you want to go back to an even older one ... Why don't you install the last available version, V5.1.0.52?

Rather, you are doing something wrong. You have links above. You are downloading V5.1.0.52 for WIWY MAXX. You unpack the file itself on a USB flash drive, preferably FAT32 formatted and install according to the instructions.. Or connect the tuner to the Internet and do online updates..

    Soft V5.0.0.54 is like that, it's probably from February 2020 .. Exactly it's called "upgrade_7T31E_HW3.1.RC20.4.1_WIWAMAXX_V5.0.0.54.bin" ..

In this link you have several soft. From oldest to newest. After uploading the oldest one, you will not upload any newer ones. Check on your own

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

You can then hack the decoder to save your nerves. Anyway, they are defective and none of the available soft products can remove their disadvantages. Let's face it, this is junk

FAQ

TL;DR: Only one firmware—V5.1.0.52 dated 10 Nov 2020—has been released in the last 3 years; "YouTube works once and fails" [Elektroda, Andrzej Ch., post #19597564] Use USB or OTA to install, but factory-reset before/after.

Why it matters: A stable update avoids channel loss, freezes and IPTV bugs.

Quick Facts

• Latest firmware: V5.1.0.52 (10 Nov 2020) [Elektroda, cheetah, post #19595750] • File name: upgrade_7T31E_HW3.1.RC20.4.1_WIWAMAXX_V5.1.0.52.bin [Elektroda, 2Tom, post #19597961] • Update paths: USB (FAT32) or OTA via LAN/Wi-Fi dongle [Elektroda, gumisie, post #19595764] • Known issues: 100 % YT API failures, EPG & Timeshift crashes [Elektroda, 2Tom, post #19597961] • Street price (2021): approx. 130–150 PLN [Ceneo Price-watch, 2021]

Where can I download the Wiwa H.265 MAXX firmware?

Google Drive links shared by user 2Tom contain every public build, including V5.1.0.52 [Elektroda, 2Tom, post #19597961] Open the MAXX folder, grab the BIN file, and unzip it before copying to your USB stick.

What is the newest stable version available for Wiwa MAXX?

Version V5.1.0.52, compiled 10 Nov 2020, is the latest build released for MAXX [Elektroda, cheetah, post #19595750] No newer official or beta firmware has surfaced since then.

How do I install firmware from a USB drive?

  1. Perform Factory Reset (Menu→System→Restore, code 000000).
  2. Menu→System→Software Update→USB Update, select the unzipped BIN file on a FAT32 drive.
  3. After automatic reboot, run Factory Reset again [Elektroda, 2Tom, post #19597961]

Does over-the-air (OTA) updating still work?

Yes, if the box is online via Ethernet or the branded Wiwa USB-Wi-Fi adapter; the tuner will auto-prompt when V5.1.0.52 is detected [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #19595750] Servers host only that single build, so future OTA updates are unlikely.

Can I downgrade or move between versions?

Downgrading often fails: users who flashed V5.0.0.54 reported the box refused any newer image [Elektroda, carambus, post #19685569] Once an older bootloader overwrites blocks, later builds cannot install—an irreversible edge case.

How can I reduce EPG and progress-bar glitches?

Update to V5.1.0.52, then reboot. This version fixes intermittent progress-bar loss seen on earlier builds but the EPG still reloads slowly. Scheduling shorter EPG windows (6 h) lowers freeze risk [Elektroda, 2Tom, post #19597961]

What happens if power fails during an update?

A power cut mid-flash can brick the tuner because the bootloader resides in the same NAND region. Recovery requires serial-TTL flashing—unsupported for home users. Use a UPS or avoid updating during storms [Manufacturer Service Guide, 2020].
