Hello
I received such a device for repair.
.
Operation looks like this: plug the display into the socket, apply the probe (at the dotted point marked) - communication is established (such a "pairing") and mount the probe in the tank.
.
The ultrasonic sensor measures the probe's distance from the liquid surface and the fuel level is displayed based on preset settings, the leak sensor has a float - if the float rises a leak alarm is indicated.
The problem is that the receiver stops reacting to changes read by the probe (transmitter) about 15 minutes after pairing, the last indication remains on the transmitter display, this applies to both the fuel level and the leak sensor. The receiver does not react to any operations carried out with the transmitter, even removing the battery from the transmitter does not change anything, the last reading is displayed all the time until it is paired again, then the display "freezes" again after 15 minutes.
I am not an electronics technician by training only self-taught therefore I have a problem with diagnosis, I have never repaired such devices (I struggle daily with computers, tablets etc), I have the tools.
Please help, how to diagnose this, where to start, what to check?
I am attaching a photo of the PCB maybe this will make things easier
