Alexa Identifies OpenBeken Downlights as Switches: Enabling Hue Option for Color Control

    Hi,

    I have some downlights that were all successfully flashed with 1.7.130 (these are the downlights: https://www.elektroda.com/rtvforum/topic3971124.html#20534678).

    I have added them to Home Assistant and they are seen as lights in there. I can control on/off/light colors, etc.

    I have just done an Alexa discovery and Alexa found these downlights as switches. I can change the device type in Alexa to lights, however, all that gives me is ON or OFF. I can't control the color or any other options I see in Home Assistant.

    My question is how do I enable the Hue option (like in Tasmota - SetOption30 1) so Alexa can find these devices as lights and offer the correct option for them as I have in Home Assistant (on/off/color/etc)?

    Yes, I am looking to have Hue integration so lights can be properly controlled by Alexa devices (just like Tasmota has).
    I can help with testing if required.

    Today I pushed the first part of the Hue driver. It is not finished and will not work, but you can check whether anything is received by doing:
    0. Make sure that Wemo is not running on your OBK. Of course, update your OBK.
    1. First, open the web app log.
    2. Then, clear it.
    3. Do the command "startDriver SSDP" and then "startDriver HUE."
    4. Start Hue/Alexa/anything discover.
    5. Copy here the web app log. Also, check the stats on the main www page. Is anything received?

    I have a question. In the log options which Log and Feature should I select?
    Also what log level?

    I have all selected now and I am losing log lines while waiting for discovery.

    Log lines are only lost if you have two tabs open with Web App. Make sure you have only one web app tab open in your web browser.

    Try the broadest log level.

    Alexa driver is still pending, but I will try to come up with something for you soon. There is a slight technical issue caused by the same URL format used by OBK Web App by @btsimonh and by Alexa interface (both URL paths start with API), but I will try to handle it without breaking the Web App. It seems that neither me nor Simon were aware that the "API/" subpath is also used by a third party at the time of early OBK implementation.

    The HUE emulation is currently a pending feature. I am hoping to get back to it shortly. Meanwhile, consider using WEMO, for the time being.
