    i bought some cheap smart plus from xianyu, it seems like a product of china mobile smart home family, huiju|合家亲, it is only ￥15, that is ~2$

    Added after 3 [minutes]:

    that QR on the box takes you here https://cloud.hjq.komect.com/appdl/index.html?cmei=11109260 but the download link fails for me. That app image also leads here https://m.mihaxia.com/soft/1820.html in a search where the APK does download. The app is in Chinese and asks for SuperUser access so I've not bothered to try to translate, sign-up and pair the device.
