I would like use same setup as in Tasmota for logging with OpenBeken. With Tasmota you can disable MQTT and use standard syslog for messages i.e. UDP/514 port.

Is this considered to be implemented? Thank you in advance.

    hi there,

since Loxone crippled their MQTT implementation for only 1200 events/day it is useless. Thus we all use syslog parsing as backward channel. For example if you switch on/off wifi socket manually by button to correctly update within Loxone. I also use it for energy metering informations back to Loxone.

@divadiow or @p.kaczmarek2 would you consider sending syslog as backward channel? There are a lot of Loxone users like me out there :)

Hi. I appreciate the tag but I have no real C development skills to be of any use with this 😁

@p.kaczmarek2 are there any news for this request? I still lack back channel to my Loxone miniserver :( Loxone still does not fixed their MQTT support.

@p.kaczmarek2 any plans implementing UDP syslog same as Tasmota does? I really need backward channel to LOXONE

Topic summary

The discussion addresses the implementation of syslog support on OpenBeken devices for UDP port 514 logging without relying on MQTT integration, similar to Tasmota's capability to disable MQTT and use standard syslog messages. There is no current known implementation of syslog support in OpenBeken, though it has been mentioned in community searches. Users highlight the limitation of Loxone's MQTT implementation, which restricts events to 1200 per day, making syslog parsing a preferred backward communication channel for device state updates and energy metering data. Requests have been made to developers to consider adding syslog sending functionality to better support Loxone users. However, no concrete development progress or contributions have been reported.
