Hi, I have a problem with the above described device. I bought it used, 100% working as described. Unfortunately I can't connect it to Smart Life. It is detected as a "smart watering device", the Wi-Fi icon flashes, but when trying to add it displays the message "adding device failed". I've tried on two 2.4GHz routers, I did an AP on the phone. Unfortunately it fails to connect.

The first thing I would recommend checking is Bluetooth and allowing location access for the Smart Life app. I remember when I had that turned off there were weird pairing issues. And the second thing is, are you pairing with the Smart Life app - that's the exact name? Try it with the normal Tuya app.

I also checked the Tuya and Moes app. Smart Life has all the permissions. I have more than a dozen Tuya devices and for a test I removed and re-added one of them with no problem.

Do you do a long reset? Do you have instructions maybe? They often have two pairing modes there - via AP and via BT, have you tested both?

[postid:14372ebb18][/postid:14372ebb18] There is nothing in the manual about a long reset. I have tried AP and Bluetooth

Change the name of the network. I at my place had to remove the dot from the name. Suddenly it started working.

    >>21621610 I have two networks with frequency in the name and on the second router without (just "sh"), unfortunately it does not work.
    Probably Wi-Fi module faulty.

I tested and agonised for a good few hours. It only started without the dot, without the space. It's been ~a month since then and the whole thing works.

I have written a priv to you.

Topic summary

A used Tuya smart watering device fails to connect to the Smart Life app despite being detected and showing a flashing WiFi icon. The connection attempt results in an "adding device failed" error. The user tested connection on two different 2.4 GHz routers and via AP mode on a phone, but the device does not connect. Suggestions include verifying Bluetooth and location permissions for the Smart Life app and trying the official Tuya app for pairing. The user confirmed all permissions are enabled and successfully re-added other Tuya devices, indicating the issue is specific to this watering device. The device manual lacks instructions for a long reset, and both AP and Bluetooth pairing modes have been attempted without success.
