    Hi,
I bought the "Mini Smart Switch" 2 years ago, and the device worked for 1 year, but now it doesn't.

The device turns on, I enter pair mode but I get the error "Failed to add the device" using the "Smart Life" app.
From my router, I can see that there is an established connection from the device to 18.195.249.137.
I also noticed it used "Beken" as the manufacturer of the network card of the device.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

    Thanks.

There can be multiple reasons why pairing with smart device fails. Is your WiFi 2.4GHz? Do you have enabled Bluetooth and Localization services for your Tuya app? Is both your device and your phone close to router?

Pairing may also fail if you try to add a device that requires one particular app to another app, for example, as far as I remember, it's not possible to pair eWeLink devices with Tuya, or Tuya with Blitzwolf, etc...

    Is your device Beken based?

Are you saying that your device has failed suddenly? Maybe it has a faulty capacitor inside?

My Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz. I've confirmed it is connected to the router and established a connection to the IP 18.195.249.137.
I'm using the "Smart Life" app with the following enabled permissions: Location, Nearby devices
    (Bluetooth is on).
Is both your device and your phone close to the router? Again, I've confirmed it is connected to the router and established a connection to the IP 18.195.249.137.

When the device was working, it was working on the "Smart Life" app from the Android Play Store.
    The device is Beken-based.
Maybe it has a faulty capacitor inside? The device turns on and enters pairing mode and connects to the internet, so I don't think it's a capacitor problem.

I think you'd need to open the case and check how it looks inside. It may be a faulty capacitor that causes instabilities in the power supply that manifests only from time to time.

Apart from that, how do you pair this device? Are you using an AP mode or easy mode?

I tried both. When using AP mode, I can see the device "register on cloud" but stuck on "Initialize the device".

I think something is wrong with Tuya servers, at least for my device...

Well then, maybe flashing OBK can help?

This will make device work locally, without cloud, but it's still better than no function at all.
