Check GPIO, and make detailed photos of this board. Check if P16 (SPI output) is routed out - can it driver WS2812 easily? Once testing complete, I will make a detailed board article and devices list entry.

PSRAM is external RAM, like on ESP32. Nice! I wonder if SDK supports it?

It's a shame they insist on internal Flash instead of external chip like with ESP8266...

Topic summary

The discussion centers on initial impressions and testing of the Tuya T2-U module, identified as based on the BK7231N chip. Comparisons are made with other Tuya modules: T1 (BK7238), T3 (BK7236), and T5 (BK7258). The T2-U module uses an older N series SDK. Users are investigating hardware details such as GPIO pinouts and SPI output (P16) to assess capabilities like driving WS2812 LEDs. Additional Tuya modules, including T3-3S, T3-U, and the T5-E1 with 16MB PSRAM, are referenced with links to AliExpress and Tuya developer documentation. The T5-E1 module is noted for potential pin compatibility with the WROOM-32 and its internal flash memory design, contrasting with ESP8266’s external flash. The presence of external PSRAM on the T5 module raises questions about SDK support. Overall, the thread focuses on hardware identification, firmware flashing potential, and OpenBeken (OBK) testing prospects for these Tuya modules.
