about 10k sip

hi I am doing a project in which I require an 8 pin 10 k sip to be placed near the ports of microcontroller. but I can get only 9 pin 10 k sip in my place. So is there a way to use this 9 pin 10 k sip in the place of 8 pin sip. thanks in advance
