questions for Hi-Fi Stereo Headphone Amplifier – Part 1 (OCT14) Product 01309111

hi everyone i am building the Hi-Fi Stereo Headphone Amplifier - Part 1 (OCT14) Product 01309111. I cant seem find a source for the 1/2U enclosure mentioned in the parts list.Does anyone know a supplier that has a suitable sized enclosure for this headphone amplifier.Also the BC328 transistor is obsolete. The BC327 is a higher voltage version with identical parameters.

I spent a long time scouring catalogues and could only find two likely-looking 1U half-width cases. I must stress EPE has not tried them so they are only suggested as possibilities. The designer states that you might end up having to chassis mount the phono sockets and DC jack in something else instead, so keep that option open, but | agree having the right case to begin with and everything on the PCB would be the most elegant solution.
RS (UK) 810-4260  is  steel,
44 x 133 x 177mm external.
Altronics (Australia) H4996 is ABS,  120 x 38 (int) x 210mm. To me it looks like a plastic version of the original steel one used in the prototype.I could not find anything else in any of the major suppliers. Hope that helps though.

In fact the original steel one has been discontinued by Altronics:H4995 1U 9.5" half rack case (steel)I would guess it was an Altronics own design. The engineering drawings were dated 2001, and I suppose that it would not be viable to make another batch of them once stocks had sold out.
