    Hello,
I have an led floodlight mounted on the outside of my house. I have decided to attach to it a motion sensor bought on allegro. I have connected it according to the instructions it comes with, however when I connect the power the sensor generally does not respond to anything and the floodlight flashes like a strobe. I have checked the connection several times, unfortunately I have no idea what is happening with it. Could this action be the result of a faulty sensor or does the cause lie elsewhere? I am very much asking for help, as I will possibly be advertising this sensor[/syntax].

What is the wattage of the floodlight and does the sensor not require a minimum wattage?

The power of the floodlight was 10W connected to mains voltage. Sensor connected in series, there was no indication of minimum power.

782bb965f there was no information about the minimum power.

Strange, there should have been. I don't know if you would advertise it on that basis, because it's not a defect. Serial detectors are like that, they need about 20W of receiver.
Buy one that needs N (full 230V and not through the receiver).

    But he is on 220V.

Yes, it is rated for 230V operation. But in series with an underpowered load it will not work.

Post a scan or a photo of this manual with the schematic, because I can't find it.

    Well, that's a lime, mate.

Since you've connected it in series, that's wrong, because it's not a series sensor after all (hence the lack of minimum power information).
Write down what you connected the wires from the sensor to. Take photos.

    .

Try replacing the floodlight with a regular light bulb.

    hence no minimum wattage information

    If it is NEXUS....

    PRODUCT FEATURES:
motion detector with three adjustment ranges: operating time, light intensity and detection sensitivity,
    detection angle / range: 360 degrees / 2 – 12 m (<24°C),
    load: 1 – 1200 W (for incandescent sources), 1 – 300 W (for led and compact fluorescent sources), .
    operating time: min. 10 s +-3 s, max. 8 min +-2 min,
    light intensity range: 3 – 2000 lux,
    operating temperature: -20 – +40°C,
    detected movement speed: 0.6 – 1.5 m/s,
power consumption: 0.45 W (during operation), 0.1 W (in standby mode),
    height for installation: 2,2 – 4 m.

Unless this is some KOBI, it varies, as values are only given for incandescent and fluorescent sources and not for LED.

I have my doubts as to whether the sensor is suitable for outdoor use.

I actually connected the sensor incorrectly. I corrected according to your advice and it is ok:) .
  • Topic summary

An LED floodlight rated at 10W was connected to a motion sensor purchased from Allegro, wired in series as per initial user setup. The sensor, an LX-06 twilight motion sensor rated for 220-240V AC with a maximum LED load of 100W, caused the floodlight to flash like a strobe and did not respond correctly. The issue was identified as incorrect wiring: the sensor was connected in series, which is inappropriate for this type of sensor that requires a parallel connection. The lack of minimum load information on the sensor led to confusion, but it was clarified that serial sensors typically require a minimum load of about 20W, which this sensor does not specify. After correcting the wiring according to proper schematics, the sensor and floodlight operated correctly. Additional advice included testing with a regular bulb to verify sensor function and noting that some sensors specify different load requirements for LED versus incandescent or fluorescent lamps. The discussion highlighted the importance of correct sensor wiring and load compatibility for proper operation of LED floodlights with motion sensors.
