How to use NodeMCU v1.0 as a USB-RS232 converter for Sonoff?

    I have a problem.
    I am in possession of a nodemcu v 1.0 module and a sonoff basic.
    I would like to program the sonoff so I can connect it to the supla.
    The problem is that I don't have a usb-rs232 converter and I got the idea to use the converter from the nodemcu.
    I just don't know how to block the esp8266 chip so that it doesn't report to the uart.

    Really? Are you unable to look at the documentation and find the Enable pin?

    If I connect this pin to ground will the microcontroller switch off?
