[Solved] I am looking for an off-the-shelf RF433 MHz gateway with HTTP and API support - an alternative to th

Hi.

I am looking for an RF433 MHz gateway that I can operate over HTTP.
The gateway should:
- emit the code sent over HTTP
- read and display the code read from another remote control
- connect to a Wi-Fi network but LAN is also an option.

If I can't find anything like this I will assemble with ESP8266 + RF 433 but I would prefer something ready made.

Broadlink supports IR and RF but I haven't found any API to handle RF (API only supports IR). If you know how to handle RF in Broadlink I would welcome such information, it would solve my problem. There can be an intermediary server as it is in the PHP API (php, perl) but I am not interested in Android as an intermediary machine (e.g.Android RM Bridge).

Are you familiar with the Sonoff RF Bridge? Maybe you know of a solution with an API to handle this gateway over HTTP?

I am not familiar with frequencies, pilots, etc.

However, something like a "universal remote control" such as the "Broadlink RM2" or the "Sonoff RF Bridge" is on sale. So they do exist, however, at least in the range I am interested in.

I realise that I won't be able to operate all remote controls with this, but I'm interested in ordinary remote controls, e.g. the kind for "smart sockets" that you can buy in markets. I think these are remote controls with a fixed code.

Thank you ... useful. I'm hoping for something more 'finished' though. Following the indicated description, it will probably be better to sit down with the Esp8266 + rc-switch myself, especially since I've done something there before (a long time ago) and the indicated description practically amounts to the same thing.

Fellow @khoam thank you for the indicated link. There are more articles there on the issue of 433MHz codes. The author "pours a bit of water" making the description of the problem a bit long but.... All in all, I found in one place all the information I needed to make a decision.

In one of the entries I read

and although I'm not a fan of either system I will always complain about the factory firmware. Hence the decision: I'm staying with the ESP8266 + rc-switch library.

So thank you very much for the link, it helped me make my decision and the articles on 433 Mhz from this blog will be very useful.
