    Hi.

I have automated window blinds based on Supla, on SRW-01 modules from Zamel. I also have an electrically rolled-out projection screen - essentially, in terms of principle and design, not much different from the window blinds. I thought to myself that I would like to have a "You are watching a film now" button on the Supli, which would cause the (roller) blinds to go dark, plus the screen to expand, plus the projector to switch on. I can deal with the first and the last point. Unfortunately, the screen controller is somehow Chinese, and not much is known about the drive either. What I do know is that already the manual, included in the kit, did not correspond to reality;) Only that it was a couple of years ago and I have lost it somewhere.

The controller looks like this: Integrating Supla with Chinese Projection Screen Controller for Automation .

Unfortunately, I'm neither an electronics nor electrical engineer, and I don't have any great idea about this, so forgive the ignorance in the next paragraph, I'll probably blather on :) .

There are three wires coming out of the screen: black, blue, brown. From the controller, brown, blue and green with a yellow stripe, and at each of these wires (with the screen unplugged) the tester light glows. On the blue one it glows the strongest, on the other two it glows. When the switch is turned to the run position, on the blue one the lamp is unchanged, on one of the other two it goes out, on the other it glows more strongly. I am completely at a loss as to how to check where the phase is and where the zero is. Logic tells me that the phase is on the blue one and the others are "zeros", of which the one on which the light went out is the "active" one. But I can't verify this. It seems to me that if it weren't for my lack of elementary knowledge, this whole post wouldn't be necessary ;) .

Well, but assuming the above is correct (i.e. the phase is fixed and the control is using zero) - is the SRW-01 suitable for this purpose? There the zero is hardwired to the motor, and the outputs from the controller show phase. Am I making the right connections? And if so - how could I - staying with Supli - automate this screen?

    thanks a lot.

    Best regards
    y.

I once wired up a screen on a similar controller, it was the same as on roller shutters, blue neutral, brown phase movement one way, black phase movement the other way. Same as on roller shutters, don't apply voltage to both at the same time or you'll burn out the motor.
Your best bet is to take a 230V bulb and hook it up to the controller to the blue and brown and make it move one way then the other, then change the wires and do the same thing again, a tester with a neon light can show silly things.

I.e., as I understand it, the number with the bulb is aimed at seeing at what point the circuit will be closed? I.e. which combination of wires will be "active" at a given switch position, yes? But will it confirm to me where I have phase and where I have zero?

These cables from the controller are from the factory or were they added and inside the controller there are terminals to connect them, because from what I remember in a similar controller I dealt with there were terminals. Presumably the blue one is the neutral and on the other two the phase appears when the controller triggers a movement.

Everything is as it arrived with the screen, I'll admit I haven't looked inside :) As a general rule, I also think that the phase should appear when switched on, and the zero control is pointless.... but this being Chinese, I wouldn't be very surprised somehow ;-)
