    Hello

During the construction of the automation for the house I changed the place where the switchboard for the signal cables will be.
Most of the signal cables for the control are CAT 6 twisted pair, but there are also several signal cables - Bitner 6x0.5

what is the best way to extend them?
I was thinking of extending the twisted pair with a patch panel, can I do the same with the alarm cable?
then I would only use 6 cables out of the 8 in the patch panel.

    or any other suggestions?

    thanks

also looks cool, only the patch panel would immediately act as a cable organiser.
Does the patch panel cause any loss?

and what about using the patch panel for the 6x0.5 signal/alarm cable?

    .
Connections should be permanent and not that anyone can come up and remove the plug rendering the system inoperable.

You can try. 6x0.5 has thinner conductors than twisted pair and you need to check that there will be good contact.
For permanent connections you can use scotch-locks.

Or electrical cubes with screws, but in a version with a sheet between the screw and the cable. You have to look for these, as they are rare.

no one will have access to this patch panel
by the way, this solution can also be torn apart or cut with scissors.

Maybe it's not a question of deliberate devastation, because if someone wants to, they will always break things, but of accidental disconnection.
Someone may not be aware that swapping plugs in the patchpanel can disable a system.

    Welcome,

The safest and most secure only decent soldering and heat shrink.

    Regards.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around extending Bitner 6x0.5 alarm cables in a home automation setup, where the user is considering using a patch panel for organization and connectivity. Responses suggest that while patch panels are suitable for CAT 6 twisted pair cables, caution is advised when using them for 6x0.5 cables due to the thinner conductors, which may affect contact quality. Permanent connections using soldering and heat shrink are recommended for reliability, while alternatives like scotch-locks or screw-type electrical cubes are also mentioned. Concerns about accidental disconnections from patch panel usage are raised, emphasizing the need for secure connections.
