Hi. Has anyone tried to figure out the MODBUS communication with the MINI-STER PID controller? On my own, I did a wiretap on the RS485 line of the controller some time ago and was able to determine that the controller is a master that constantly overwrites registers for slaves numbered 4, 5 and 6.
I have attached a snapshot of the Modbus slave along with the register descriptions. I am puzzled by the values in the registers that I have marked with a question mark. Has anyone figured this out? Obviously with the this thread I have already familiarised myself, but unfortunately it has not helped me in any way.
In listening to the RS485 lines and decoding what I captured, I was helped by the IO Ninja program (7 day time version). I will also upload a file from the above program and a copy of the log in .txt as an attachment
What I'm getting at - is there any data hidden under these logs marked with a question mark for, say, a 3/4 way valve actuator control, or other data that I can use in my home automation system?
I have also noticed that the controller is waiting for some data from slaves - could it be about date and time? The controller loses it after a power failure - there is no battery back-up....
If anyone wants to join in the fun then feel free to
