    Welcome,

The most ordinary Chinese proximity sensor giving ground when triggered. What is the problem?

    Greetings.

    Thank you bhtom

It is true that it is simple but how do I connect it to the LEDs so that it turns the LEDs on and off in the aisle?

Have you read the description of the sensor at the bottom of the page? There it says where the plus, where the minus (ground) and where the signal output. They also wrote that :

The sensor works with, among other things, the time relay available in our offer

Well, yes, that it works, I agree, but as a novice I would need a little diagram to know what to connect to what.

What is this sensor supposed to activate from what distance? Wouldn't a PIR detector be better?

He is supposed to switch on the stair lights at a distance of /- 50cm as someone passes by, but the bandwidth must be narrow so that there is no interference from the side.

    Thank you for your suggestions

Then a staircase motion sensor would be best , the reflective one will not work.

The only thing is that the physiognomy of the object is such that there is a corridor next to it and when people pass by, the code detector detects the infrared light source, therefore it would be necessary to use a curtain-type infrared detector with a narrow sensing band, but I do not know how to connect such a detector as for alarms to some kind of timer so that it is sensitive and switches on the lights.
If anyone has any idea how to use an alarm-like detector I would be happy to help. Because normally these detectors are connected to the control panel and work, but if not to the control panel, how could they be used in my case?
    Thanks again in advance.
    Regards
    Tony

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around connecting an E18-D80NK proximity sensor to an LED timer for activating lights in a corridor. The sensor operates by providing a ground signal when triggered, and users seek a wiring diagram for proper connections. The sensor is intended to activate lights at a distance of approximately 50 cm, with concerns about interference from nearby objects. Suggestions include using a curtain-type infrared detector for narrow sensing and connecting it to a timer, although the specifics of such a connection remain unclear to the users.
