I am an aquarist and was looking for a replacement solution for the programmers to switch on the lights. I came across wifi sockets first by chance then wifi strips. A very cool compact space-saving solution. However, when I read tests of some of them, I found out that things are not that great. Namely, some strips are not able to continue working according to a set schedule after a power failure. Others, after a loss of wifi network coverage, wait until the range returns. In addition, it would be useful if the sockets could be switched on for a second, for example for fertiliser dispensers, whose pumps switch on for a few or several seconds to dispense a few millilitres of fertiliser. As far as I can see, all slatsbsteroeane applications such as Google Home or Smart Life do not have seconds in the settings.
It would also be useful if the USB sockets were also controllable, so that LED strips or peristaltic pumps for fertilisers could be connected at 5 volts. Of course, each USB socket could be controlled independently.
I see that you have a lot of knowledge about such strips here. Can you advise what to choose? Are my requirements too high? With these strips, are the settings downloaded from the cloud or stored somewhere in the strip's memory? Wouldn't a skirting board with Bluetooth connectivity be safer in the event of a wifi blackout?
