I have already stoned the gpio in esp 2x in 3 years. This concerns the gpio to which the reed switch is connected between ground and the gpio monitoring the opening of the gate. That it's a gate, the cable from esp to reed switch is like 25m-30m (twisted pair). I suppose sometimes some surge will be generated on it and this is the reason for the gpio getting stoned. Can anyone advise how to protect the gpio?

    As standard as anything. Opto-isolation.

You do the separation on the relay.

Not even sometimes, or even quite regularly from sparking the contacts. I would suggest putting a gasifier on the contacts of the reed switch to start with. What voltage and current are you switching?
