    What pins do I connect to on the FAAC 740 motor control unit (i.e. the limit switches) so that the wifi controller in the app can see whether the gate is open or closed?     The controller has a reed switch with a magnet that must be mounted on the gate.
    It is connected to the controller to detect which position the gate is in.

    I know that it has a contracton, but I would like to connect to the already fitted endcaps, why add as you can use the already fitted ones, I think it will also give a signal if it is open or not. Two FAAC 740/741 limit switches. .

    You can't connect to the drive's limiters because they interact with the
    drive's electronics.

    It is not possible to do this directly, but there is a device that makes it possible. The limiters are plugged into it and then from it to the drive board. I've just forgotten what it's called. Colleague @kotbury will remember.
