I used Cloudcutter on my Aldi Smart Lamp which started without any issues. I managed to integrate it to Home Assistant with ESPHome however nothing works. I can't put the device in AP mode to re-flash. I'd like to try and install the original firmware without soldering (if possible). Does anyone have a copy of the original firmware and can anyone point me in the right direction to get this fixed?

    Thanks

Why would you like to return to original firmware? I don't think we have a firmware backup for your specific device, but here is our repositor:

I'd rather suggest you telling us what kind of lamp you have, maybe I can make it work with OpenBeken? How your lamp looks like?

Thanks for your reply. It’s a Casalux Smart Corner Lamp. It has a BK7231N - CBU chip. I had a look at the chip and I’ve attached a photo. My goal is to get the lamp working one way or the other. Your help is appreciated. Printed circuit board of Casalux smart corner lamp with BK7231N - CBU chip.

Can you provide more information on this device? Is it using PWM, or individually addressable LEDs like WS2812B?

It's WS2812B-like LEDs, they are supported in OBK, maybe you should try it?

I’m struggling to put it in AP mode when using cloud cutter. Is it possible to flash with OBK using ESPHome?

For reasons that I am not able to understand, ESPHome has made some strange, non-standard OTA format which makes transition very, very hard, and you will need a custom OTA file for that, some users has put one here:
    https://github.com/BenJamesAndo/OpenBeken_uf2_firmware
You can try it out, as far as I heard it works good.

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve just had a chance to have another look. I’ve downloaded the firmware you suggested. The device is online in esphome however I can’t connect to the web server for OTA updates and I can’t put it in AP mode. I’m at a loss

    See here:

Can you browse to the IP address of the device? normally ESPHome has a web page with an OTA Update section (if it was configured that way). You can point to a file from the above github and upload OBK to it. Then you can update to the latest OBK.

User interface with OTA update options.

Right now the device works fine with on/off, color picker, whites (I think). And soon we will have some basic effects in OBK.
@p.kaczmarek2 - any progress on this?

I can’t access the webpage via the IP. It’s connected to my router but always says page can’t be displayed when I try to access it like my other ESP’s. I think I’ll have to do a serial flash
