How to connect the Satel SLIM DUAL PET detectors to the Grenton Smart Home System, the detectors are to activate the light in the hallway when motion is detected. I mean connecting without a control panel, which I don't need for anything.

I am asking for a wiring diagram in the detector itself and where to plug in the cables in the Grenton modules.

Which modules will I need or

    GRENTON - I/O MODULE?
    GRENTON - ANALOG IN/OUT?

    Greetings

    Hi,
you need a module that has digital contact inputs, so as you wrote I/O module or Digital IN module, depending on how the rest of your needs look there.

For me, the bigger quandary is how to strip the multi-pair cable that is used to connect the switchgear to a detector like UTP. How do you strip it in the switchgear so that one pair is connected to the 12V power supply and the other signal pair to the IO or Digital IN contact? On the detector side, NC, NC contacts and jumpers on NC not EOL - because that's how it needs to be wired, answering your question.
As for light control, I don't know if you need a dual detector. I think here as simple as possible will suffice. The risk is that the light may switch on when a cat or dog runs by, but this is different from triggering the alarm. A dual detector, on the other hand, can introduce unnecessary delay, which is not desirable for lighting control.

Thanks for the reply, I've been away for a long time. As far as the cable is concerned, it won't be a problem as I have a YTDY 6x0.5 Bitner alarm cable attached. However, how do I plug in this detector?

Can you show it to me in this photo?
And one more question, what power supply should I use? Can it be any 12 volt one?

    Thanks and best regards

One pair on NC NC and this to the Grenton digital input. And to the 12 volt and Com pins for 12 volt power and ground.
Change the jumpers to NC as I think you have on EOL.

So one cable to NC, 2 cables to NC, then these two cables to one Grenton digital input, plus one cable to 12 volts to the power supply and one to - is the power supply any 12 volts or any particular parameters?

Power supply any 12 volts, there is consumption in milliamps. In Grenton I/O you have so that there is a common ground - G for the 4 digital inputs. That is, one NC to G in Grenton I/O, and the other, for example, to digital input 1, or the first free input of the 8.

Ok thanks, I understand now, only the power supply is plugged into the 12+ connector and what is plugged into COM? Is the plus from the power supply plugged into 12+ and the - into COM sorry for asking such trivialities but I prefer to ask than damage :)

Yes COM is the ground from the 12V power supply.

Hi, is it possible to wire five motion detectors under one 12 volt power supply? Pull up five twists under the plus and minus terminals, connect five each under one terminal?

    >>21624411 Of course, it is possible to connect several detectors in parallel under the + and - terminals of a single 12 V power supply directly to the power supply, if the design of this contact allows this. Although a better and more professional solution would be to branch this on some connectors ;) .

Topic summary

The discussion addresses connecting Satel SLIM DUAL PET motion detectors directly to a Grenton Smart Home system without using a control panel. The detectors should trigger hallway lighting upon motion detection. The recommended approach involves using a Grenton I/O module or a digital input module with digital contact inputs. Wiring requires connecting one pair of the detector's NC (Normally Closed) contacts to the Grenton digital input and the other pair to the common ground (G) on the Grenton module. The detector's power supply should be a standard 12 V source, with the positive connected to the 12+ terminal and the negative to the COM terminal on the detector. Multiple detectors can be powered in parallel from a single 12 V supply, ensuring proper current capacity. The detector jumpers must be set to NC, not EOL, for correct operation. The wiring cable used can be a multi-pair alarm cable such as YTDY 6x0.5. This setup allows motion detection signals to be read by the Grenton system inputs, enabling automation like light activation without a dedicated alarm control panel.
