Hi. I recently bought an Esp 8266 and have a question
Is it normal that after connecting it to the USB it flashes 2 times and the LED goes out?
I've seen a few YouTube videos of this circuit and in them it flashes constantly after connecting and then goes out, but in my case it's a bit different and when I press the chb reset button or the other one it flashes the same way as when I connect it to the power supply.
Is this the way it should be? It does not mean that the circuit is damaged ? I remind that new but can be defective

Honestly, if you didn't get burned after connecting the esp8266 to the USB then I would recommend uploading a simple program (like blink) AND see if it works properly. This is probably the easiest way to check if everything is working properly. And the blinking of the LED itself can vary from one manufacturer to another, because each manufacturer can (not necessarily) upload a program for it (very simple at most). That's what I think when it comes to the flashing. But still, the easiest thing to do is what I said.

If, after connecting to the power supply (e.g. USB port), the LED on the chip flashes and nothing happens, this means that you need to hold down the FLASH button on the chip when switching it on. Then it enters the correct mode.
