I am looking for a solution to control a PlayTV box remotely from another location via the internet.

The TV box uses a Bluetooth remote, so Broadlink style universal IR remotes do not work. What is needed is a Bluetooth remote that can be connected to the internet e.g. via WiFi and which I could control from a different location to where the TV box is.

I have tried to get around this Bluetooth by connecting the TV box to a TV with Anylink, which allows you to control, for example, channel changes on the TV box from the TV remote thanks to the HDMI CEC function. You could then use the Broadlink with IR and the matter would be resolved. Unfortunately, when the encoder is plugged into the HDMI series, the CEC seems to be 'filtered out', also the control of the TV box from the TV remote no longer works.

The second, not very elegant method is to use some older, unused smartphone in which I install the TV box app and activate Bluetooth. You can then control the TV box at this point, but only in the location where the smartphone is. You can add the free TeamViewer and then remotely control the phone as an already remote from outside the location. The problem with this is that it's scary fun, because you have to log into TeamViewer first, then go into the phone remote and change the channel.

I've been trying to scour the web for a few months to find some sort of universal remote with Bluetooth that walks on WiFi and which you can control remotely from outside your location, and so far I haven't found anything. Something like Broadlink, but that supports BT.

Is there really nothing like that?
