    Good morning,

I am at the stage of ordering external roller shutters for my house. I've decided on the manufacturer of the roller shutter motors Somfy, but now I'm having trouble choosing the right motor model. I don't want any radio control, just over the cable, I will want to put a ZigBee compatible roller shutter controller in the box. Well, and now I'm wondering what to choose, as I'm keen for there to be smooth movement (e.g. half open), an overload sensor and you-know-what locking (these are probably the basic functions, but I can't find any exact information on this). Maybe someone has some experience and can help in choosing a specific motor?
One contractor has banned the more expensive Ilmo 2 50 WT and the other the cheaper SOLUS (SOLUS P&P VVF 2M), maybe someone knows something about this :) .

    Greetings!

A motor, like a motor. It just needs to be overloaded, wired (i.e. not radio-controlled) and matched to the armour surface and that's it. Automation takes care of the rest.

    >>21547309 Ok, so not to worry too much, just take the cheaper one? I thought simply different engines would have different options, part opening type.
I'm also still wondering if each motor will be compatible with the wall switches with back-up, don't they have to have some bits and bobs to make it work?

No, it is just a motor and a piece of electronics for overload shutdown. It is controlled by up and down wires.
