Hello, Isn't it better to use an off-the-shelf antenna+router device that can be installed outdoors and powered via twisted pair? E.g. something like this:

Welcome,

I'm planning to put a Wi-Fi router in a TSM box, and I'm thinking of using an external antenna for the router so that there are no signal propagation problems from the metal box. The flat is quite high (3.85m), so I assume such an antenna would be installed above the door, above the TSM box. Is this a good solution? What antennas can you recommend, relatively small in size, that could be mounted on the wall? Thanks.
