Hello. I'm at the stage of choosing facade blinds for my house. The idea is that they would be controlled by an Arduino Mega connected to a Rasberry Pi with Domoticz.
I am wondering which motor to take for the facade blinds:
- Somfy J4 RTS
- Somfy J4 WT
- any other, do you recommend?
Anyone done something like this before? With roller shutters it's simpler, every plc will control it because it's only a matter of giving L1 and L2. Here the matter is different because it is also about the rotation of the lamellas. From what I read, this is done by giving a short (<1sec) signal which controls the blinds.
I have seen at Anwis (blinds manufacturer) a nice remote control where you can set the angle of the lamellas very precisely (10 steps), can such a thing be (and how) realised using Arduino and Domoticz? I would like these systems to be open to my small automation and not closed in, for example, a Somfy remote control (which, by the way, costs over 600PLN for 16 channels).
Another question concerns cables. I understand that it is best to run cables from each facade shutter to the control panel. In this case, would 4x0.5 cable be suitable? In addition, I would like to be able to control a wall button. I also run a cable from this to the control panel, e.g. 3x0.5 (up/down) and connect this to the digital input.
Does anyone have something like this ready and programmed? There are examples for roller shutters, but I have not yet found any.
Can driving short signals (0.1sec) with an Arduino Mega be problematic?
I would appreciate any advice on this topic. I'm just starting out (Arduino, PI on the way) but I need to let go of the blind order now (to properly prepare the lintels in the house). I therefore need to know the model of the motor.
Thx!
