Tuya SmartHome valve: Wi-Fi-free operation, communication with water sensors and closing

Hi,
I cannot find an answer to my question regarding the Tuya valve.
I understand that in order to program it, there must be wifi coverage and access to the server, it must be paired with water sensors.
Does this mean that if there is no wifi signal then the valve will not close when the water sensor alerts a leak? Or what I would like it to do, the sensor will communicate itself without wifi with the valve and the valve will close?

If the sensor and valve are on wifi then without coverage it won't work.
If on zigbee then yes. because they are connected to a gateway and even if there is no internet the valve should close.

But they still need to be within Zigbee range.
