I have started tearing down Moes, a 2nd generation non-neutral switch. It contains a Tuya WBR3S. The module was removed from the board using a hot air gun. It came off uneventfully. All pads on the board intact.

I have tried flashing it using BK7231 Easy Flasher without success. Tried pulling power and reconnecting as well as CEN to ground and CEN to 3.3v. Still keep getting "Getting bus failed" errors. One thing I noticed is the chip will draw ~60mA for 5 - 6 seconds and then current draw drops to 0mA. It does this when I first apply power and when doing the CEN to ground or power. Not sure if the chip is dead.

I have searched this forum and the Internet but don't see much information on the WBR3S. There is a Tuya datasheet and I don't see anything that talks about keeping the chip alive. Power draw does seem a bit low according to the datasheet.

Anyone else have any luck with the WBR3S?

This chip is currently not supported, sorry. Please stay tuned and watch for news here on Elektroda, I hope to get that one running with OBK soon as well, but currently, you just need to swap it for ESP12/TYWE3S:
View of ESP8266 WiFi modules ESP-12E and ESP-12F shown on a webpage with a price of 1.30 euros.
