    Hey all

I have a Hormann operator fitted and a pulse output to open the gate. Currently, there are two cables hanging which open and close the gate via a short circuit (I have the original button but have not fitted it yet).

Are there any options for a button that will work over WiFi with Tuya? I wonder if a regular light button without neutral will work?

Currently, I have a few things like lights, blinds hooked up to a Zigbee gateway controlled by the Tuya app but unfortunately the range does not reach into the garage so only WiFi remains.

If you want to connect a tuya light switch, there are probably not enough pins for a switch on the application ( https://smartbudynek.pl/pl/products/sterownik-do-bramy-garazowej-tuya-wifi-492.html ) I think you can connect a switch on the drive power supply (but you won't close/open it on the application) (if it is not only to be switched on by the application).

Yes, but then I have to connect voltage to the controller.

I am looking for a solution where I connect only these two wires which, when making a closing signal, send a pulse close open the gate.
I just realize that WiFi operation may need voltage so maybe something on batteries or a battery? Unless I don't understand something ?

Yes I can but then I'd better buy a controller and do it around the drive under the ceiling. .

I have already pulled the impulse cable and want to check what options I have using only this

How exactly do these cables work
    1. You short two for a second
    2. Do you hold until the gate opens?

If one is worse (but I think if something is soldered out it will charge)

    If two is yes:

L2 no, L1 drive. L power (if you want the buttons to light up then you still need to take the power ground)

And so overall like the one. short circuit more like this :( looks.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around integrating a Hormann operator with a Tuya WiFi button for gate control. The user seeks a solution to operate the gate using a pulse output without needing a neutral wire. Responses suggest that a standard Tuya light switch may not have sufficient pins for this application, and a wall-mounted bell switch with a potential-free output could be a viable option. However, it is noted that a button alone without power will not function. The user considers using a Tuya receiver/module powered from the drive control panel but prefers to utilize the existing impulse cable setup. The conversation highlights the need for a power source for WiFi operation and explores options for battery-powered solutions.
